Sorry about your problems but as to your original question...

I'm a wireless gal all the way. Wireless mice on my laptop. I even have one that is a smaller size that I just use for the laptop. For my desktop, I have used wireless keyboards and mice for quite a few years. I love being able to move both of them out of the way... like a table 3 or 4 feet away if I have to!

The usb ports do work as I know plus it would be weird for all 3 to fail at once, I charged my fitbit through the usb ports yesterday fine

Hope you get this fixed Jennifer!!

Im a wireless mouse all the way!

i haven't read all the posts but i bought a bluetooth mouse because wondering about my USB ports reliability drives me crazy but it's glitchy too (and was around $AUD50) but if you dont have pets that chew cords and aren't bothered by cables, the wired ones work fine on most surfaces (but all mice, wired or not, can be picky about surfaces) and are obviously the cheapest option We bought DS a USB dongle, wireless mouse that is a 'gel mouse' - it was about $20 (cheaper now!) and feels squishy so if you get sore palms from hard plastic conventional mice, this is a good option and he loves it - DD is all about the track pad and i get you, i so can't photoshop with the track pad

Finally at 10.30pm my mouse finally kicked into action again, don't know if it had anything to do with some updates that I did over the last 24 hours or so but hopefully thats the end of that drama and I can go back to fun things like job applications and....oh scrapping

@littlekiwi I am pleased to read your mouse is now working.

If you ever do need a new one I really like my ergonomic keyboard and mouse. The mouse feels so good to use. The keyboard took some getting used to my but my hands now feel very comfortable using it.

Yeah! I'm glad it's working Jennifer!

I bet it was a driver error. I had that happen on our laptop, and had to delete the driver and redownload it because Windows couldn't see the problem.

That said ,I love the wired mouse on my desktop computer. And the wireless with the laptop!

Yay so glad it was sorted out, I had a similar issue with my wireless mouse and had to reinstall it and update drivers.

I am wireless all the way but...once in a while my wireless mouse for my iMac wakes up cranky. I end up having to use the hated but necessary wired mouse to get going and tell my iMac to recognize the wireless mouse. The wired one is very old but once it's plugged into my iMac it works. A new Mac Mouse is about $40 US dollars.

I also have a wireless keyboard. Nice and pretty but then it's a Mac. :cloud9

I use a wireless trackball on my work and home laptops; my desktop (at home) has a wired mouse that matches my keyboard. I like the trackball because I don't need a lot of surface space to move my cursor; in a pinch, I can rest it on the laptop and still use it perfectly!
