Comments...

I try to not get too caught up in what people comment on my LO's. I figure if they are taking the time to actually type something about my LO then they are trying to be nice in some way. I don't play the praise game, so they are forced to leave me a comment, KWIM?! I think sometimes with computers it is hard to really know what the people are saying or in what tone they are saying it in, so I just like to give the benefit of the doubt. If people start to worry too much about what other people are commenting, then it will make people not want to comment at all for fear of offending someone I think.

I'm not saying I'm offended by the comment, LOL - I'm just saying that in my mind I hear it differently than it's intended. No one has offended me with a comment EVER. I'm just happy anyone looks at the page, quite frankly.

I run out of adjectives sometimes, I feel like I use the same ones over and over. Like "Beautiful!" or "Gorgeous!". Brilliant is one of my favorites, but I save it for times when I'm really blown away by the way someone used a particular item, or how they laid out their page. I never use "stunning" because it's a word I'd never use in real life. LOL I know that's a popular one in digi-land, but I don't thinK I've ever called something "stunning" in my daily life unless it's in a bad way. Like "She called me a bitch and I was STUNNED!"

While we're on the topic, though ... Sometimes I'm amazed when I read someone's page and their journaling is really haunting and honest, and then I scroll down to leave my comment and someone has left a "This is so cute!" type of comment. That happened to me once when I did a page after we had one of my cats put to sleep, and the comment was something like "What a cutie! Totally awesome page!" and I was like "Did you READ it?" LOL It was neither cute nor awesome that my cat died.

Clearly NOT. If there's a lot of journaling, i don't always read it all, but I at least try to get a feel for what the page was about. Some people's kids ... :disagree

I do agree with Manda, at least here at TLP I try not to get too worked up in the comments. Since we don't have a praise game, I figure if someone is actually commenting, its because they want to, not because they have to, so if the comment seems "off" to me (like interesting) I try to think it means something good.

Oh lol at "as always"! I say that all the time. It is code for=this is completely amazing just like every single other page you scrap and I just don't have any more words to tell you so.

As for the "interesting" I've gotten that a few times too. I've decided they mean "creative". That sounds better right? LOL!

:think I'm not sure how i would take that.... some of my pages are interesting I guess so I say its a good thing lol

I'm not a native English speaker, but there are some scrappers who impress me every time again...so as always or as usual shall be a compliment for them.It means nothing bad.:D Interesting is something positive in German, but I haven't used it in comments yet because it sounds crazy to me, too. Sometimes my comments are like repetitions of my previous ones. But I try my best to give individual comments. Don't be too critical with us:helpy

Noooooooooo don't take it that way! I say it to my very favorite people that I stalk. I'm sure I've said it to you before. :sorry

Haha .. well your pages ARE interesting, Amy.

I always laugh a little when someone puts "as always!" at the end of a comment. i.e. "Great page design ... as always!" because to me that reads like "yea yea yea ... I have to leave you ANOTHER comment"

Interesting, I've prob gotten that before or when they wink at the end LOL I say as always and probably to you Peppermint! But to me I am just saying its amazing as it always is :)

Oh I am with you sweetie!!!

I always try to say more than "beautiful page" or something even when I played the praise game and HAVE to leave a comment. But it often makes me kind of sad when I read the comments I get and more than 50% of them don't contain more than two or three words :disagree

I also can't stand when people don't read any descriptions...NO, the little girl on my pages is NOT my daughter! And I ALWAYS mention that she is my sister in my description! :rollingpin

And btw. I simply LOVE to read long and intense journaling :beat

HEY - I say as always! And when I say it I mean it - that I'm never not amazed by what they scrap and design. So :p

:nod <------------- On a side note, that is SO not a nod. Or am I always just a dirty bish? :giggle

I usually first type what pops in my head and then go back and edit. Cause sometimes when I'm doing the praise game "interesting" is the first thing that pops in my head. But often times in a good way. Is "fascinating" or "creative" better?

Maybe I'll just start putting the humpy smiley as my comment and let you guys decide if its good or bad! :lmao
