This week, I cover the differences between clustering and layering on your scrapbook layouts. Check it out! Clustering vs. Layering: Knowing the Difference
Layering comes more natural to me. I like the clustered look, but those clusters always take up a lot of time. It's interesting to realize this!
Ditto, even though I love clusters they are not intuitive for me. I struggle w/ them and take way too long to create. I do love to see great clusters, Ellen can cluster in her sleep... I BET! @EllenT
That was a great read! I am so horrible at layering. I'm ok at clustering but layering is something I need to work on. I love templates for layering ideas.
I need to work on both!!! I have a harder time with layering...if a template has layers I'm better at it, but I struggle with what papers to use. Things that run through my head *do I want to patterns touching?* *I think I should do solid background, pattern, solid, pattern* *def solid background, maybe solid, pattern, solid?* *oh look, this paper looks shiny!* **start process all over**
Great post! I love layering (especially paint) but can't cluster to save my life (so I just don't do it. Haha)
Great article! I would love to learn more on clustering. Are there some general guidelines? When should you use string in a cluster and how? Should there be an odd number of things? How do you decide which ones are on top of others? See, I need some help... I love using Fiddle-Dee-Dee's templates because I can place my stuff where she has already placed things and hopefully, it all looks good. But it gets complicated when I decide I want fewer things on a page and start taking them off - some times it messes up the balance.
I use and love both when creating scrapbook layouts (digital and paper). Great article, Aaron and love all the sample pages <3
GREAT Article!!! And I LOVE to cluster and layer!! I will say, for those of you having trouble, it takes practice! When I do my paper scrapping, I am constantly moving things around, stacking things, etc. It has taken me about three years to be comfortable with my clustering and falling in love with doing it. As far as layering, take little bits here and there, tucking them etc. Like labels, tags etc. And I love to layer! It just takes practice and keep at it. Eventually it will come naturally and you will know what you like. Me...a doily is ALWAYS involved!!!
I do more layering and very few items for clustering. I really don't like a lot of"stuff" piled Great article Aaron!
I think it's funny that we categorize ourselves as a "clusterer" or a "layerer"! I'm a layerer too, but often push myself to cluster just to expand my skill set.
