LOL ... I just divide it in half and pull the two sections to the front, hold a section between my fingers and snip, then do the other side ... since it's curly it doesn't look straight even when a stylist cuts it "properly."
Where do you get your hair cut? At a local salon from home. How often do you get your hair cut? Every 6 - 8 weeks. Good luck with your haircut!
That’s nice you have a hairdresser friend. I have a hairdresser cousin but I’m too lazy to schedule with her haha
That’s weird she got it right the first time but not the others. My daughter and I like our hair cut on a middle part even though we use a side part and hairdressers never like to do the middle part cut for us. It’s annoying!
Yeah I imagine curly hides uneven cuts a little better than straight hair. I might have to try your divide and snip method but I don’t think mine is quite long enough to pull to the front unfortunately.
Thanks Stefanie! I definitely prefer home salons to full salons; I’m much more comfortable in someone’s home. All those hairdressers in one room intimidate me!
I use Hair Cuttery. I have been using the same person for the last couple of years. I just get a simple bob, so nothing fancy. Right now I am growing out my mistake of getting bangs. lol
I prefer a simple bob for myself too. My daughter is debating getting bangs and it’s a big decision! Sorry they were a mistake for you. :-/
Where do you get your hair cut? I do it myself. How often do you get your hair cut? Whenever my ADHD kicks in. LOL
I do the divide and snip as well. My hair isn't curly either. Another way to do it is to bend over letting your hair fall down so you can see the ends. You can catch a few of the longer strands that way too. I never take too much off no matter which way I do it since all I'm doing is trying to get rid of the long strands.
LOL ... I don't know how many times in the past I made the mistake of getting bangs cut. That's another good thing about a home haircut ... I KNOW I can't cut bangs straight, so I'm not tempted to give them another try.
I used to get the $55.00 cut at a salon but couldn’t get an appointment when I needed one about a year ago so I went to a cheap place. I could tell no difference and saved $25.00. I now go to the cheap place one a month and it works great.
During the pandemic, I started cutting my son's hair and my hubby's hair out of necessity. Now, they only want me to cut their hair -- not because I do a great job but just because they don't want to go to the salon either! LOL. I've definitely gotten better at it over time but I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing (because I don't. )
I had bangs for many years but I was getting my hair either cut, permed or colored during that time so made regular visits to a stylist. Now that I don't perm or color it made sense to grow them out. I usually got frustrated in trying to grow them out in that stage before they could go behind the ear or they were long enough to pull back in a barrette. Once I get to the point I can either pull them back or put them behind my ear I'm good. I always hated when they hit the top of my glasses too, that's what told me they were too long!
we have our hair cut at home by a mobile hairdresser who specialises in neurodiversity care. She was perfect for my son when he was small, and she's stayed with us and cuts the hair for the entire family. She works for a care home now as a carer. However, she said she would visit us as long as we wanted her too. She comes to cut hair once every 2-3 months.
I go to Great Clips (an inexpensive chain hair salon) about every 6 or 7 weeks. My hair is still as short as in my profile photo.
