who's done it?

i've just got my 3rd today.
i am totally loving my NEW skin.
it's been the BEST experience EVER!!!!

i've always had acne prone skin.
oily and gross.

since doing the peels and using the hydrcone/retinA
cream every night.
i just can't believe my skin now (it's been 6 months since i started)

i LOVE my new face.
LOL

(i've always been self conscious about my face/breakouts and oily skin)
and now i'll go out in public with
*gasp*
NO MAKEUP!!!
ROFL

when i'm all finished (i have 3 more peels to do)
i'll have gotten rid of ALL my acne scars, suns spots (i liked the sun a bit too much)
and fine lines and wrinkles...

i can't WAIT.
WOOT!

sounds sooooo tempting! but - does it mean you can't go in the sun afterwards? i'm so 80's - i love a tan! LOL!

I have never heard of that but it sounds wonderful. I have some terrible sun spots I need to get rid of.

That's fabulous that you found something that works. Will you show us before and afters?

I don't dare do something like that. I'm so dry, I'm afraid one treatment and I wouldn't have a face, lol.

my sister has really dry skin as well.
i mean REALLY REALLY dry.
we are both doing 6 chem peels
(she used to fake bake in college
and has had basil cell carcinoma in a couple spots
on her forehead and tip of her nose)
my husband has had melanoma.

and now, i'm a bit freaked.
(i've always slathered up my kids though...LOL)

the only difference in treatments so far.
is that she peels a lot sooner than i do.

she'll peel within 2-3 days whereas my skin takes 4-6 days to really start to peel.

i will miss my tan cheeks.
but my derm dr. is dead set against the sun.

and besides...i love my new face.
and after spending money to fix it
i for sure will stay out of the sun..
actually she just really enforces the use of sunblock.
(which i've ALWAYS hated to use on my face because
it's sooooooooooo oily.)
but i've found one i LOVE...
eucerin
everyday protection
face lotion
SPF 30

it's SO LIGHT.
i feel nothing on my face.
it's wonderful....

and ps.. even if you were sunscreen,
you'll still get a bit of sun..

esp when you're in the sun as much as i am.

I use a Neutrogena Sunscreen for faces that I adore, I think it's called Ultra Sheer with Helioplex? I have it in .. something insane like SPF70. LMAO My mom was/is a sun worshipper so I got my rude awakening early in life. I stay out of the sun as much as possible. I'm okay with being pale.

Never had a chemical peel, though. How would I go to work on the days my face is peeling off? LOL

The chem peel does sound tempting... my derm. recommended it for me, but prescribed some stuff to help soothe my acne right now... it seems to be working... thanks for the info, Jacque. I too have very acne prone skin and absolutley hate looking in the mirror....

I hate my skin but it's so super sensitive that I couldn't even imagine trying one of those peels. Glad you've found something you love Jacque :)

When I hit 30 I broke out with acne for the first time in my life which really sucks. But I have such sensitive skin that I don't know if that would be good for me. Plus I'm guessing it's way out of my budget!! I'm glad it's working for you though!

That's good to know Jacque. I might have to reconsider. Does it help with your sister's skin damage? I had three little issues this year (growing up in FL had it's drawbacks, lol) that the MD froze.

while we're at it...what is the cost range for something like that? i would love to do it. although i love having sun on my skin i'm pretty strict on the 30spf on my face. i'll be looking into peppermint's 70spf.

o wow- I would LOVE to try this too!!! I was sun worshiper until 25- the darker the better back then! Since then, though I'm totally afraid of the sun as I know what it can do now-reality hit big time! I use to have the yucky horrible oily skin that makeup would just run off - i couldn't even imagine putting on moisturizer or sunscreen -but NOW I'm extemely dry and have to apply CREAM twice a day!!! I really don't know what's worse......anyway, I need to look into this...

i paid $300 for 6 peels.
but i called around for a long time..
chem peel prices ranged from $50-$250 per peel.

the place i go is my sisters dermatologist who took care of her cancer spots.
she's rated really high in our state
and had excellent reviews.
i wouldn't have done this if i didn't trust the dr.

we actually got %10 off our price because we asked the dr.
if we had a big enough group of us if she'd give us a discount.
and SHE DID!
we have 13 ladies in our group and every single one of them
has different skin types but we've ALL loved the end results.

it never hurts to ask.........

$300 for 6 peels is a great deal! Ive had one done and it was like 150 for the one! I would love to do a series of 6! I am also a big fan of the micro-dermabrasion! I too was a sun worshiper back in the day. Doh!
