I think I want a blog. But I don't know which one to go with - Blogger, Wordpress or is there anything else?

What would you recommend?

I don't want anything fancy, but I don't want plain white either. Is there anyone that does customizing or a site that I can go to?
 
I love Wordpress but I really dislike Blogger. I have never gotten along with Blogger. You can easily add a banner to Wordpress and change the background.
 
I have always used blogger, and have had no problems, but I also don't do my own blog - I have a sister who has blogger mastered!!! :)
 
I have used both Blogger & Wordpress and IMO Wordpress is easier to use. It is just set up more naturally to me. There are a number of designers that sell blog toppers, etc. I think most of them are for blogger but some could probably be used for Wordpress too. You can find free templates to personalize both without having to know html to use them. Both of them have some templates you can choose from right from the start that give you more than just the white background.
 
Well I've started with Blogger, but I'm already frustrated. I cannot get my title text to center no matter what I do. I've entered different CSS codes, etc., but it's either slightly off to the right or the left and it's driving me nuts. :(
 
Did you get it centered Leah? It has been about a year since I switched from Blogger to Wordpress but I can pull up my old blog to see what settings I used.
 
Link us up, Leah. I prefer blogger to wordpress. Mine is very basic but I like it that way.
 
Hm, it must be some setting of the template you picked... It can be really annoying!
I think you need to go into the HTML to change that. Are you familiar with it?

If you want to try it, look for a header section, I believe you should have this to get it centered:
text-align: center

i've always used blogger. i like it. i like it much better now that i know how to alter code to make it what i want it to be.
i have set up a word press account, but i can't decide if i want to go forward with it or not. i'm not sure i really care to switch all that much. i have no issue at all with blogger, so i figure if it ain't broke...
 
I have always used blogger also. I actually shut down my blog not to long ago and started brand new the other day. I went with blogger again.
 
I personally love blogger only because I can figure out how to do changes to it like on the sidebars and I never could on WP. LOL! I have zero issues with it and find it super easy to use :) Your blog looks fab sweetie!
 
Thanks girls! I do find Blogger much easier and I like that you can place pictures wherever now, instead of always at the top.
