I know that the designers have created some great faces in past M3 kits (and add-ons). Do you create beautiful faces of your own? Are you drawn (no pun intended) to a certain type of face (or person) to add to your journaling pages? Do you draw/paint/digital collage any faces or characters yourself? Do you like adding people to your mixed media pages?

I just picked up a book called Beautiful Faces (by Jane Davenport) today. I've had a girl crush on Jane for a long time. I'm tempted to try to draw some of my own. Or at least that is what I told myself when I bought the book. LOL.

    What about you??

I'll be honest... i'm scared of adding faces to my pages, but I do not know why. I've done it here or there... but I always feel intimidated. And somehow, like I don't relate fully to the drawing/doodle/whathaveyou. I like looking at them though!

I love using faces and dolls especially on art journal pages. If I use one of them, something in me related to it. It is a way to put myself out there but not really. Or to help me relate the message of the page to myself.

I agree with what Carilyne said. I love using faces. Somehow, I seem to gravitate toward "stamps" of faces, the b&w kind, although a person on a vintage piece of ephemera is also nice.

I'm really into drawing and using faces in my AJ pages. Not only do I have fun creating them but they also help me telling whatever story I need to get out of my head

I'm also in love with Jane's Beautiful faces but no matter how hard I try I never seem to like my 'mixed media portraits' as much as my wannabe realistic drawings.

I feel the same way! Like, "Hey, cool kit with awesome face elements, but... :headscratch " lol. But I love January's kit and want to buy it (I joined M3 this month).

The way I look at it, I'm just not liking photos of myself these days... So the face elements are a safe alternative to journaling about me, but without photos.

I looked up Jane davenport on pinterest. I found myself more drawn to the unformed faces... the ones that are only half showing, or outlined only, some half faces. I'm not sure if that says anything about me or not. Haha

That's a good way of looking at using a face. (Wow, never thought I'd say that sentence rotfl.)

I do like faces on other people's pages, and sometimes use them myself. I have a whine, though, about "art dolls" & faces. I'm old. I'm fat. Where are the images that look like me?
