Since Jan asked about bats the other day, and The Batman came out on HBOMax, of course the perfect topic of discussion would be who is your favorite Batman actor? Are you old school Adam West or the newest person to grab the cape Robert Pattison? Personally my favorite Batman is Christian Bale. My husband likes George Clooney. What about you?

The only Batman I've seen was Adam West. I only know George Clooney of the other three and that's for other movies.

That's tough. I have a fondness in my heart for Adam West. The reruns were taken off our local tv station when I was a little girl and I was so upset that I wrote a sternly (for a child) worded letter to them begging them to put it back on lol. We went to see The Batman a couple of weeks ago and I did really like Robert Pattison in the role (I wasn't sure I would), but I'd have to say that Christian Bale would be my favorite.

I like Christian Bale but I'm curious to see how R. Pattison does in the role.

I am an equal opportunity Batman actor appreciator. I think they have all brought something interesting to the part!

He was good I thought. I was expecting a terrible movie from reading the reviews, but it was decent.

I think Robert surprised me. I wasn't expecting to like him as Batman.

I would have to watch them all again to actually give an opinion on the rest. It's such an interchangeable role in my mind.

I dunno.... it used to really bug me that there were so many different ones. Like, once you're Batman, you just have to always be that actor/character. Lol. AND, it also bugs me a little to have such big name people as Batman because I relate them to other characters that they'd played, so it takes me a long time to switch mindsets to them being this big super hero character.

I remember as a kid watching James Bond movies with my Dad and I couldn't understand why we'd watch a few with one guy as James Bond and then another guy would be James Bond in the next movie. I'd be all like "THAT is NOT James Bond!" :giggle

I do this too... not sure why Batman is interchangeable - maybe because there have been so many? Like, I could never see anyone else play Iron Man or Thor... or Loki.... BUT, I love what they did with the Spiderman group of guys, so I can see more spidermans, lol!

When I started reading this I immediately thought of James Bond. It was just recently that I came to the realization that as far as James Bond was concerned, anyone could really play him since his character is a MI6 agent whose code name is 007. Once I wrapped my head around this, it was easy for me to even think of a woman in that roll.
Now Batman, that’s a bit different. I guess the mask helps, lol

Definitely Christian Bale! We just watched "The Batman" with Robert Pattinson, and I thought it was terrible!

Adam West. I've never seen any of the Batman movies. Adam West is also distantly (very distantly) related to me by marriage.

I totally agree..why can't just one actor play Batman forever? Lol. It's hard for my mind to register another face as Batman after seeing Christian Bale plays as Batman in 3 movies.

As I said above, I've never seen a movie. I only saw the TV show that was on when I was a kid.
