It's World Baking Day!

I am definitely not participating today because the weather finally took a turn and it is HOT. I'm not turning on the oven at all. But I do have to say that I am not much of a baker anyway. I'm trying to even remember the last time I baked. I'm going to make cookies with my granddaughter tomorrow evening and I do make the occasional pie or cobbler. I went through a spell this winter where I got caught up in all the sour dough videos and thought I was going to start that...nope. I think I'm kind of hopeless as a baker.

I don’t like to bake in the summer. I don’t always enjoy it, but sometimes I do.

I roasted some veggies this morning and I did bake a batch of my no sugar oatmeal raisin muffins yesterday. I need these in my freezer for snacks.

I guess my muffins are a favorite. I don’t bake very many sweet treats, not that I don’t enjoy them, but I don’t need them around.

I enjoy baking but don't do it a lot anymore. Mostly cookies, brownies and baked veg.......unless homemade pizza counts since it goes in the oven

I was the baker in the house growing up. Dad loved my chocolate chip cookies from scratch.

As for now, I don't bake very often. Living alone, I don't need to eat all of it myself. If I do bake cookies, I use the Pillsbury refrigerated dough.

Bread, Christmas cookies, and streusel cake—sponge cake—but under no circumstances layer cakes.

It's getting hot here too, so no baking for me in the near future. I used to bake bread, but haven't done that in a long, long time. I don't mind baking and usually bake cookies, caramel brownies, peanut butter bars and other treats, but now that it's just the two of us I don't bake very often. I have no self control and will eat all the goodies if they are sitting around here.

Do you like to bake? This is one of those things I enjoy vicariously these days, through baking shows! I am super impressed with what people can do!
Did you do any baking today? No, it's just me here, and I am like many others in that I don't need the calories or carbs sitting around mocking me.
Do you have a favorite thing to bake? Sugar cookies...because you can do all sorts of shapes and decorate them with royal icing and they are so fun and cute!

Do you like to bake? Occasionally, but its quicker and easier to buy a ready made cake from our local bakery.

I like to braid challah (but not hand-knead the dough; I do not have the energy for that right now and a stand mixer ruins it). I also like to decorate cookies for Hanukkah (but my aunt makes the dough and my mom rolls it out). If I'm baking for real, I like to make simple cakes or cupcakes, deep dish cookies (in a retired Pizzeria Uno's pan), and brownies.
My husband is going through a muffin mix phase right now; he gets the small ones at Dollar Tree that make 4 jumbo muffins and then we have snacks.

I do like to bake. I did it a lot more when I was young. I made cookies a lot when I was a teenager. The last time I baked something was an apple crisp about a week ago. My favorite baked item is still cookies.
