Hey Pad Scrappers! It is I, Julie, with the (dreaded) Take Two Challenge! We heard your issues with this challenge in June, and appreciate the need some of you have to scrap new photos, not old ones. So, to try and help you with that, this month's Take Two guidelines are as follows: Go back through your own gallery and find a page you particularly liked. And then, scrap that style/design again! Maybe you'll scrap it exactly like you did before. Maybe you'll do a little different twist on it. It's entirely up to you. But your instructions for this month are to find a page in your own gallery, and re-scrap that page design. It does NOT have to be the same photo - you can scrap an entirely different photo or series of photos, with an entirely different story to tell. But your new page should have some direct connection back to your original page regarding the design. For example: I chose to rescrap the following page from a year ago: I love the clean, linear look to the design. It happens to be from a template, so for this month's Take Two, I went back to that template and decided to flip it 90 degrees, since that made more sense with the photo I chose: See? Simple! Your other instructions: your page must contain at least 75% of Lilypad product. You should post your layout in this thread, as well as in the August Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked! And of course, your page should be posted in the Lilypad Gallery so we can leave lots of love! The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete all 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a guest spot on the Lilypad Creative Team! The first six challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the seventh challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
great idea! It is basically scraplifting yourself - which can be pretty helpful in figuring out your own style. Your page is gorgeous, Julie. LOVE how the journaling echoes the colors in your photo.
from this to this... I do like the take on the challenge of rescrapping the page not to make it better, but using either the same theme or design... I did possibly too literal a scraplift of myself... was that wrong of me? I loved the idea of using different pieces by different designers, and somehow or other the page took shape and I tweaked it until I liked it only to realise I made it look too much like the original: One Little Bird's Halcyon, Stargazer by Forever Joy, Anita Designs' Vellum, K.Fredricks' Splatterific, 24 Seven by Paislee and Dido, Lynne-Marie's DYY Doodled blocks
I love this idea for a re-scrap, thank you for adjusting the challenge! I chose this one to re-scrap and this is the new page (going in a different album, so different paper size!)
