This month's photography challenge is dedicated to the memory of Dawn Inskip. Not only was Dawn a beloved designer, she was also a true scrapbook artist and created inspiring pages that reflected her love of memory keeping. I spent some time this past month browsing through Dawn’s gallery and was struck by how meaningful her photos are. She captured her world around her in a wonderful way and shared the details of what brought her joy - notably nature and family. They showcased people enjoying the moment and highlighted the little details of life and nature that are so beautiful. So I would like this month’s photography challenge to be: find beauty in the little things. Using this photography theme, I hope we can emulate Dawn’s love of her world around her and capture images that speak to our hearts. May we all see that there really is true beauty in even the smallest details and little moments. Here is my photo honoring this theme, and the layout I created, using Dawn's products: botanicals elements, patience extras & artsy transfers, hush canvas & prime essentials stitches (you are not required to use Dawn’s products on your photography challenge layout): I hope you have some time this month to contemplate your world around you and notice that there is beauty everywhere, especially in the details and fleeting moments, and capture that beauty with your camera. I can't wait to see your layouts! As always, please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the August Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
This is wonderful... This will be in my mind when I'm on vacation, and appreciating the little moments that are so amazing... xx
I have just been waiting for a challenge someplace to put these tiny pieces of natures art! The tiny red mushroom one was REALLY tiny! So easy to totally miss, if you don't look down!
I took this picture of the bird sitting on top of the car when I was going into Michael's Crafts recently.
my little thing is a bee - they are important but little and undervalued IMHO (used this Field Journal style template as part of a kind of challenge with @jenn mccabe who used it the other day too and inspired me to give it a go too)
