Do you consider yourself organized? I have recently been going through the stuff in my craft room to try to weed out the things that I no longer need and make it look a little tidier in there. :giggle

Are you organized?
How often do you purge your closet/drawers/cupboards?
Do you keep things "just in case" you might use them again?

I do consider myself organised. But I guess that would depend on your definition. Generally I am punctual and do what needs to be done on time. I know where things are and can find most anything I need/want. I am (according to Cass the Clutterbug, ) a ladybug. Which means that I tend to hide stuff to make the place look tidy which does sometime mean I misplace stuff. Especially with the menopause having relocated part of my brain.
I purge and tidy when it starts bugging me or the drawer doesn't close or I can't find something I know is in there.
I do often keep things just in case. We don't have Amazon here yet to the same extent as overseas that I can magically replace anything that I might be looking for by the next day. So it helps to know where something is and be able to find everything easily.

Are you organized?
I pride myself on being organised (brit speller here!) because I really understand that too much clutter and disorganisation in my home makes me feel stressed and overwhelmed. When I was doing my 'homes' project I was shocked at the clutter in lots of the photos. These days I am slightly obsessive about it.

How often do you purge your closet/drawers/cupboards?
About every 6 months. Doing home exchanges (which allows us to travel as much as we do with all our accomodation'free') is a great incentive. I downsized drastically in 2019 when I chucked away 70% of what was in our family home to move into a small apartment, and honestly I didn't miss any of it. That was a good lesson, even though we have since had to 'upsize' again as we moved into a larger home with an office each and slightly bigger generally than we were looking for (only place available for sale that worked at the time)

Do you keep things "just in case" you might use them again?
There's a high bar for that.

Are you organized? Yes, I do consider myself organized. But sometimes I get so organized that I can't find something!

How often do you purge your closet/drawers/cupboards? At least once a year but will sometimes just do it on a whim. There are 2 drawers in the bathroom are the ones that can get disorganized easily so I tend to go through them more often to straighten them up.

Do you keep things "just in case" you might use them again? Not really.

Are you organized?
I'd like to think I am but deep down I'm not

How often do you purge your closet/drawers/cupboards?
Not often enough. It generally ends up happening when I'm looking for something & have "lost" it.

Do you keep things "just in case" you might use them again?
100% guilty! Yep, I'm a bit of a packrat here which I know isn't great for my mental health but you never know when you might need x, y or z or it was a good deal at the thrift store. I've actually had to ban my mum from getting certain things at the thrift store....I know she means well but it was getting too much.

I'm quite organized. I have purged closets and drawers and cupboards less and less frequently over the years. For one thing, I have less time for it. And also, I've gotten better at not accumulating stuff in the first place. My tendency to keep things "just in case" has diminished over the years too, as I've realized I want to be more minimalistic. So far, I have not missed anything I've jettisoned.

Are you organized? I think I used to be. I am at work. But now I feel like I live in a constant state of clutter just because I live in such a small space.
How often do you purge your closet/drawers/cupboards? It's an ongoing process. I purge the things, but then they sit in the backseat of my car until I take them to my local charity thrift store.
Do you keep things "just in case" you might use them again? Let's ask the bottom drawer of my nightstand...

Are you organized?
Yes- I think that just goes with my type-A personality. A place for everything & everything in it's place! Thankfully both my hubby & I are like this so it's not a hard thing in our house.

How often do you purge your closet/drawers/cupboards?
Often. Like at least quarterly. We just did a big purge since my daughter's senior class was doing a textile fundraiser drive, so we even went deep into the linen closet, all our closets & through the kitchen & garage.

Do you keep things "just in case" you might use them again?
I am more likely to hang on to things- the hubby not so much- he just throws everything away which drives me crazy. I prefer to donate what can be used again. I do have a couple storage bins in my office/craft room that stores a lot of extra craft supplies. I honestly go to it often with kids' school projects & such so it's worth saving weird stuff like that.

Are you organized? Nope. I’ve collected too much crap lol

How often do you purge your closet/drawers/cupboards? Whenever I’m putting off doing something else lol

Do you keep things "just in case" you might use them again? Yes it’s a very bad habit.

Are you organized?
I like the idea of being organised if that counts! I think I am mostly with the exception of home paperwork which is currently sitting out on the lounge floor waiting for me to go through everything again. It's been there for several months

How often do you purge your closet/drawers/cupboards?
I had to do a major purge when I got divorced (3-4 years ago) as my current home is probably a third of the size the family home was, compounded that I no longer have a garage or shed and still have to have the loft boarded. My only storage space as such is the small area under the stairs. There are a few things I'm wishing I'd kept though. I've been pretty good at not buying new stuff just because, well there is nowhere for it to go!

Do you keep things "just in case" you might use them again?
Small things that fit in cupboard or drawer I would say yes, but nothing larger. Again. Space. And before this was defiintely yes. When we moved, we had a couple of skipfuls of stuff, many bonfires, trips to the charity shops and to the tip. My ex was the biggest hoarder. He worked in the building trade and our double garage and huge workshop were filled with his stuff.

I haven't heard of Cass the Clutterbug, but I love that you're classified as a ladybug. That's cute. My sister was notirious for hiding things in her closet and under the bed as a kid and then my parents would praise her for her "clean" room. :giggle I was like "at least I'm honest about my messes" (which were everywhere. Lol.

That's awesome that you're so good at clearing clutter. I really struggle with it! I see the clutter and I don't love it, but I can't make myself get rid of enough stuff. I'm definitely getting better at it as I age though, so maybe there's hope for me yet! :giggle

Ha ha! Too organized! That's funny! That's great that you don't keep stuff just in case! I need to get better at that!

Lol. Good to be honest with yourself. Fellow packrat too! Lol! I'm trying to get better about it. sigh.

That's great that you're better at not accumulating stuff... I am not so good at that. Lol. Especially in my craft room. You're lucky to not have missed anything you've gotten rid of. I did a big purge of my craft room a handful of years ago and have actually regretted a few things, but not too many, so that's good.

Oh my gosh! This is me! I constantly have things in my car to give away or donate. Lol. Drives me crazy. But I can't just throw things away! We actually have a "Buy Nothing" group on Facebook for our area where you can post things you want to give away and people will come to your house to pick them up! I've done a TON of giveaways on there. And since it's all free, you just put it on your front porch and they come get it when they have time! You don't even have to deal with people! Plus, I love that things aren't ending up in a landfill!

Lucky you! I feel like I'm pretty good at that in most of our house, I know where everything goes, etc... there's just too much stuff sometimes. Lol! That's also awesome that you clean out quarterly! I definitely tend to hang onto the craft stuff more than any other type of item in our house!

{snort} That is awesome! I'm there with you on too much crap! :rofl I definitely tend to only purge when things get ridiculous and i can't find anything anymore! Especially my closet. I hate getting rid of clothes, but then there's so much stuff in there I never wear anymore.

Are you organized?

Ha ha ha! I definitely think the idea of being organize counts. Ha ha! Sometimes I just don't want to spend the time going through everything, so I totally have the "piles" to go through later. Drives my hubby crazy. Whoops. Downsizing would definitely require me to do a major purge too. I've told my hubby that we can never move because I cannot even think about having to pack up my craft room. Lol.

I'm not - at all! I'd say my computer is the most organized thing in my life. I have my scrapbooking and other digital supplies organized so that I can generally find them. Definitely not one of those people who tag everything they download, but its all in designer folders at least. I'm ashamed to say my non-digital possessions are always in disarray. It comes down to 2 things - I grew up in a very messy, cluttered home so I never learned those skills. Of course I know I could learn them though, so that's not a good excuse. The other reason is that we live in a very small home with 7 people. There are only 2 closets in the whole house, both of which are in the kids' rooms. Hubby and I have far too many possessions for the size home we have. I feel like I'm always trying to go through things and downsize, but they inevitably pile up again. Its frustrating sometimes, but clearly doesn't both either of us that much or we would do something about it.

Are you organized? It's situational, lol
