Seeing the Invisible! Yes, you read the correctly - we are going to work with the invisible to create a page! Design has lots of boundaries, perimeters, edges, and lines to show beginnings and endings. We are going to style a layout with a shape in mind, but no actual black bold boundaries to define the shape. I found a 2D designer - Yegor Shustov (Yegor Meteor) who does this a lot in his designs. Many of his images are styled out of a single large shape, then there is more to the image within the shape. So, I'm going to use his work as the basis of my examples. You can find his instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/yegormeteor/ Hopefully by looking at these, you might choose a shape and design your layout within that shape - but use no actual boundaries or lines or defined marked edges. Lighthouse, Rocket, Compass (all clickable for a bigger version) Hot Air Balloon, Smoke, Iceberg All can be found (and others) at Yegor's Instagram page located here: https://www.instagram.com/yegormeteor/. So, for your April Monthly Challenge, I want you to create a layout that uses an Invisible Boundary Style - try to use an “invisible” larger shape on your layout. No true solid outlines or no solid edging to show off that larger shape. Here is my layout - My Invisible Shape is Mountain Range (Lake George) in paint. It wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. I used my eraser a lot to try to make the paint work out into peaks. I scrapped around it to finish my layout! I used Just Jaimee's Into The Woods Kit. Monthly Challenge Rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the March Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
So I did a LO and then re-read the directions and realized I had done it incorrectly. But here it is first, the heart was the "invisible" concept that doesn't work. lol I like my LO though. lol And then I did this, not sure if it is acceptable either, I tried to put the image inside a "tent, with the flaps open. Heck, I may have to do a third. But look at all I am learning! (and I like this one too!)
This is a super cool challenge, Jenn! I loved the examples you showed and tried my best to emulate them with my layout... Thanks for the fun challenge!
Thank you for the challenge Jenn. In the 'Bon Voyage' kit there are two camera's. I used the realistic one to made the brushes and the other camera I used as shape ...
