Hello everyone! Lately, I've been thinking about details and the big picture and how they go together. I've looked at some older photos that had lots of background in them and noticed that sometimes the details get lost in the big picture. But sometimes, the up close detailed picture is missing something that helps tell the story. For our Photography challenge this month we are going to use 2 photos on our scrap page. The photos will be of the same subject, but one up close (macro if you like, but not necessary) and the same subject stepped back. In my example you can see the close up of the daffodil, and then the stepped back showing the line of them. You can do this with anything! A close up of your puppy's snout, and then stepped back to see the whole dog. A close up of your desk, and then step back to see the whole room. A close up of a birthday cake, and a step back showing all the guests. If you are struggling, post here and tag me! I'll help you brainstorm. A reminder of our monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the April 2022 Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and also posted in this thread. If you aren't sure how to link your page from the gallery, check out this thread: Gallery Sizes and Crediting. Despite the title, it shows how to link your page too! The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges). I can't wait to see the details and big picture in your pages this month!
@bestcee So excited to do this challenge this month! I totally thought my photos would be of something in nature. However, we were fortunate to coax our youngest (teenager) to spend that afternoon with us yesterday and to be willing to "model" for some photos. My up close version is a photo of her earring ... her dad wondered what the heck she had in her ear. And the stepped-back version is of our beautiful girl having fun. Thanks for hosting this challenge!
I see this daily on my morning & afternoon dog walks, it's so interesting how it changes thru the seasons, right now it's particularly cool looking!
