If the journaling has to be legible and readable, I'll redo.

If you follow your heart when it is broken, you will not land in a safe, healthy place.

    Journaling:
I am torn...I love my grandchild. He brings so much joy and love into our family’s life. But since his mom and dad both work, they have asked me to watch him for them full time. Of course I can’t say no...who would willingly choose day care over family to watch their child. Who would allow that if there were options. So I watch my beloved grandson as an act of service to my son and daughter in law. But it is work...hard, hard work...it is a sacrifice on my behalf. I raised 4 children. I sacrificed time and money to be a stay at home mom. It was all I ever wanted to be. We struggled a lot in those early years financially. But it was worth all the sacrifice to be in my children’s classrooms weekly as a helper, to go to every game and recital and extracurricular activity, to make my house a home of love and togetherness and I was present. It was a sacrifice we made as a family, for each other. I served my family for all those years willingly and happily. I only worked three years outside the home...three years and I did not enjoy it. Sure my youngest child was in middle school, I was gone after and home before anyone, so they didn’t notice my absence, but I would have much rather been at home. After that employment ended, I felt relief, such joy to be back at home, finally getting time to do what I wanted and needed after sacrificing that for so many years. Then Jaxon came...and I love him dearly and I really do cherish my time with him...but again, it is a sacrifice on my behalf. Now my time and energy goes to him, always him and his needs and wants. I am glad I can help, I’m glad I can serve, but sometimes, just sometimes, I wish I didn’t have to sacrifice so much to serve. but in the end, family is more important, so I will continue to sacrivice and serve willingly and joyfully and happily. And if I need pity party every once in awhile, I will quietly do so and then wake up the next day and carry on because that’s what mother’s do!

Well, I wasn't going to do this challenge and I got this text from my 20 year old grandson Jordan today. He's had a lot of problems and been in trouble for a couple of years and recently left town to go back to Michigan to "find himself". He's been out off the grid a lot and I was thrilled to receive a text from him today and he wasn't asking for money. He heard a song that reminded him of me and screenshot it and texted it to me and said he loved and missed me. It's "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green and I always danced and sang when it came on the radio. He does remember all of the good times we had together when he was growing up. I'm so thrilled to have heard from him.
