Has anyone done one of these? There is one tomorrow at my store and I'm intrigued. This one is called "Developing your Style" Or has anyone done any of the "classes" through an Apple store?
It came through in an email from Apple. I don’t always read them, but for some reason I opened this one.
Hummmm, all the years I have had an I-Phone I have never received a piece of mail from Apple. I wonder if it's because I live in the boonies about 3-4 hours from the nearest Apple store???? DUHHHHHH!! But that sure sounds like FUN!! Keep us posted on what went on.
That sounds really cool! Unfortunately, like Nancy, I'm probably 3 hours or so from the nearest Apple store.
I'm <3 miles away from my Apple Store. Thank god because I have an iMac. I believe I've heard of them but never wanted to go. I have lots of this weekend free but I'm more inclined to read in bed under down comforters. My idea of heaven, cups of tea on hand too.
I’m torn. I’m curious, but it’s the weekend and they are short enough as is. But it’s only an hour and a half and I’ve always wanted to do a photo walk. The store is only about 10 to 15 minutes away.
Ditto! It could be fun! And if it's not, I bet there is another store or coffee shop or something else near the Apple store, so you could run errands or grab lunch after the walk.
Never heard of them either. I'd go ... if it's not your cup of tea ... you can sneak out early. Then you can come back and tell us all about it!
I found something about it online and it sounds really interesting. My Apple store is about an hour away so to far for me right now with a sick hubby and fur baby (even the dog has a cold).
I signed up. I’ll jusy have to kick my butt out this afternoon on this dreary chilly day after our weeks of warm and sunny.
Yes, I did go. the event I attended was called Photo Walks: Developing Your Style. I wouldn't drive 3 hours for it, and probably not 1 unless I had other things to do. It covered some basics for shooting (rule of thirds, different viewpoints, and adjusting exposure, the optical zoom on the iPhone, portrait mode). My store is in a mall and we started out by checking out some different wall "textures" and how to make sure to include them in your shot, we looked at a shiny surface and how to play with light and shadows with that surface and we went outside and experimented with taking shots from different angles. I actually took a couple of pretty interesting shots. We spent about an hour walking around as a group and shooting, and then about 1/2 hour going over some editing basics. I don't typically edit on my phone, but I think most of the editing stuff in the native app is stuff that I already knew, or had figured out. It was free, so I'd say if an Apple store is convenient for you and they have one of these scheduled, it's worth it.
