Sorry can't help. I make mine with a box mix by Ghiradelli. They are the best brownies so I never try to make them from scratch.

    I use Paula Deen's:

    Lady Brownies:
    2 C Sugar
    1 C Veggie Oil
    4 Eggs
    6 Tbsp Cocoa
    1 tsp Vanilla
    1 1/2 C Self-rising flour
1 C chopped walnuts or pecans (opt)

Preheat oven to 325 degree’s. Blend together sugar, oil, eggs, cocoa, and vanilla. Add Flour; mix. Add nuts; spread into greased 13x9-inch baking dish. Bake for 25 to 30 minute’s.

For Cream Cheese Brownies: Use lady Brownies recipe above. Poor half the batter into a greased pan. Layer with this cream cheese mixture, then top with remaining batter, swirling it with a knife.

8 Tbsp. (1 stick) Butter, softened
One 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
    1/2 C sugar
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
1 C chopped walnuts or pecans (opt)

Cream together butter and cream cheese. add remaining ingredients; blend well. Swirl into brownie batter with knife edge.

I've used a recipe from my old and worn out Better Homes and Gardens cookbook for YEARS:

    1/2 cup butter
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 cup flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 cup chopped nuts, optional

Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter and chocolate in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir in vanilla. Combine flour and baking soda; stir flour mixture into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Add nuts if desired. Spread batter into greased 8x8 pan. Bake 30 minutes; cool and cut into bars

Icing sugar here too, I think it's sometimes called confectioner's sugar (in the States maybe?)

  13. oh yes I've heard confectioner's sugar as well, who knew it had so many names. They just can't keep it simple can they. :party3
