This one isn't out yet - I got it as an ARC through Edelweiss - and I'm only about half way thought, but I am REALLY enjoying it! (it actually makes me think a bit of Erin Morgenstern and the Night Circus - @FarrahJobling @bellbird @Tree City @bcgal00 @jenn mccabe ). Not at all preachy or religious, but it's such an interesting premise if you like fantasy novels (which I actually don't, normally, but I was intrigued by this one). The Library of the Unwritten
this does sound good! I'm finishing up the Nickel Boys today for my book club so I'm ready for something new and maybe a bit less depressing than the Nickel Boys... thanks for the recommendation =)
You had me at Night Circus. Hopefully our digital library gets it soon after it's available (sometimes our digital library is a bit slow)
Sounds like a winner to me, it's the 'start of a new series' bit that stops me getting way too excited & dying to get stuck in to it but it's one to add to my 'want to read'list for sure - it sounds a bit like The Librarians movie series & I loved them too
I will say, I'm not a fan of series either, and I'm not sure how they will do this as a series. At this point, 50% in, as long as they bring it to completion, I can see it being a stand-alone.
Okay - update now that I've finished it - I LOVED this. I'm really stingy with my 5-star ratings, but this was 5 stars for me. It is easily a great stand alone book, but I'm actually looking forward to the potential for a series!
