When I was playing with the February BYOC collection by NBK-Design I journaled along the curved lines of the black background paper. (clicking the image will take you to the gallery and full credits and store links are listed there) This Froggy Friday (10th Feb) NBK-Design has a new set of templates for us with lots of fabulous curves to create our own layered background and scenes with. The psd versions have text on a path included. I scrapbook with the Affinity Suite, and have put a little tutorial together on how to create that text on a path with Affinity Photo, Designer and or Publisher. The steps are the same in all 3 programs, however the pen and node tools are in different places on the toolbar. (For this tutorial I'm using Publisher.) Part 1 - Create the curve. For this tutorial I'm using one of the png layers from cutout template 1. 1. We are going to use the pen tool to trace the curve. Select the pen tool, then starting at the left of the curve, click to create nodes in between each curve. This will produce a line joining all the nodes. Affinity will automatically create a new layer for the curve. 2. Select the node tool. Click on the straight lines in-between the nodes and drag it to match the curve you are tracing. 3. Repeat with the remaining parts of the line to complete your curve. 4. If you want to be able to see your curve then set the line colour and width etc in the context tool bar. If you do not want to be able to see your curve as a line under your text then ensure that you set the line properties to none Part 2 - Add the text 5. With your curve selected, go to the menu bar: Layer - Convert to Text Path 6. Start typing your text. 7. Edit the style and colour of your text etc. For this tutorial I've chosen The Dear Wallace font by Lilypad designer Heather Joyce. Note, you can move your shaped text with the move tool in the same way you move any other object inside Affinity.
@Angela Toucan I've got it added! Thank you, once again, for your fabulous contribution to our community here. You are so appreciated!
