Welcome to the 2022 edition of Love Our Designers. This event isn't a traditional challenge in that there aren't any real rules. It’s a fun event to scrap with products from a fave designer or try a new (to you) designer. It’s all about having fun and celebrating the uniqueness of all of our Lilypad Designers!
I thought it would be fun to get to know Leah aka Mommyish a bit better. She graciously answered some questions from me, even the sillly ones!

Since it’s Valentine’s Day, if you’re sweetheart were to give you a heart-shaped box filled with your favorite sweets what would the box be filled with?
I love chocolate - especially dark chocolate or filled dark chocolate. Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate, Dark Chocolate & Almonds, Dark Chocolate & Raspberry... York Peppermint Patties!! I can't have those right now because "technically" I am low-carbing and the low carb version is gross and the better low-carb version is WAY too expensive *I'm looking at you Lily's*

Which collection that you designed is your favorite? How about a style or action?
My favorite collection changes from time to time. Right now I am considering a re-hashing of an old favorite which was just the basics - kraft, white, cream etc. It was like a little black dress of a kit that I've retired. I think I need to update it and make it anew! What do y'all think?

Styles or actions - ok, styles are my babies. I love them each differently and of course so so much. *whispers* I have to say that so they don't get jealous of each other - my favorite is definitely CU - Stylin' 323 - Holographic Sticker Styles (the-lilypad.com) because they remind me of everything I loved about my childhood.*

Star Trek or Star Wars?
Star Wars. Hands down. I'm actually listening to the Thrawn books right now on audible as he is my most favorite character. I just love the Star Wars universe - so much diversity so many interesting little stories! I'm, of course, enjoying all the new shows and such but the books will always hold a very special place in my heart. As a teen I was OBSESSED with the Young Jedi Knights series - Jacen Solo (who they took bits of to create Kylo Ren / Ben Solo) was a huge book crush for me. Um... I think my nerd is showing so I'm gonna slowly back away now.

When did you start designing?
I didn't think of it as "designing" by I first became obsessed with graphics in high school. I asked my parents to get me Jasc Paint Shop Pro 4. I think that was around 1997? I helped create our high school's website and just really enjoyed trying to create websites and such. I was SUPER into Sailor Moon so I had a domain kawaiisenshi.net and I needed to create graphics for that. Oddly, I never thought of design as a college path - I was a music major and design was just a fun hobby!

Do you have a favorite rom com?
Hmmm. I'm trying to think of one that I go back to watch more than once. I love comedies that contain romance. Like We're The Millers. LOL It's basically a comedy with a twinge of romance thrown in. So We're The Millers! I also love Austenland - it was just fun. Or Lost In Austen! They mix modern with my favorite period drama bits!

What led you to become a designer?
When I gave birth to my eldest (turns 19 this year! ACK!) I knew I wanted to document her life. I didn't really have a great feel for hands-on craftiness. I did have a blog that I journaled with (a holdover from blogger/LiveJournal/etc) and had purchased the domain "mommyish.net" because I didn't feel I fit the right ideal of what a mom was. I am geeky, not great at homemaking etc. Anyway, a friend of mine (from a message board we both frequented) suggested digital scrapbooking. I didn't know you could buy products so I just created my own pages. The rest, I suppose, is history. I started creating freebies and then I was asked to join a shop. I feel I didn't start taking it "seriously" until about 2011 when I started creating more Commercial Use tools. What a ride it has been!

I created a layout using some of Leah's products including some of her styles! One of the reason's why I love her styles and actions is because I have PSE 10 and they even work in my very old and outdated program! :D

Now it's your turn!
I am totally looking forward to seeing all yout great layouts created with Leah's designs!!!

I am very addicted to styles and own a LOT of Mommyish styles.
What I used for my page came from a great bundle - Wildflower which includes some very useful styles including the cork style I used on my photo.

My husband and I bonded over our mutual love of the EU (expanded universe) books when we first met. I had read almost every single post ROTJ book. I was SOOOO sad when they were like "nope" and re-did all the things. Mara Jade & Luke TOGETHER 4EVER Ha.

oh, I love her styles! had to get a couple from store!! thanks for the super cool freebie I LOVE adding scatters to each and every page that I create!!

I have lots and lots of old freebies by Mommyish! But I also have and love Secret Ingredient Love and Peeled Alpha (oops, I got it at another store years ago) and a few others. My most favorite item Mommyish has made was part of a series of daily freebies for Xmas 2015: As In Olden Days, Candy Cane Alpha, which you can see in my siggy. I love peppermint candy. :P

I love Mommyish's stuff. So much fun in each of them! It was hard to choose which to use today. And thanks for the freebie!!

Thank you so much for the confetti freebie! I had a lot of fun with it :).

I have a few of the paper kits from Mommyish, but what I really like is her styles and brushes, they always work perfectly.
