Welcome to Day 6 of our Christmas in July: 10 Days of Christmas Challenge! Today I have a challenge for you to be off-topic with your kit choice! Here in the desert we do a lot outside in December and rarely have snow. In someways, I feel like our Southern Hemisphere friends in the winter! The traditional Christmas/December kits do not always fit my photos. So, today's challenge is to use a non-Christmas theme kit with your Christmas photos. Or, if you are scrapping non-Christmas photos, use a Christmas theme kit! Here's my page, using a kit by Pink Reptile Designs called "Homebody". I decided to look for a cactus kit to go with my cactus garden photos. There's nothing Christmas or even December about my kit choice. If you need more inspiration, Cheryl will be doing a special "Watch Cheryl Scrap" tonight! Challenge Recap: Scrap a Christmas page using a non-Christmas kit, or scrap a non-Christmas page using a Christmas kit. Reminder: Your page must contain at least 75% current Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery, your tracking thread, and to this thread. Everyone who completes all 10 of our challenges will get a $3 coupon. And one random "10 challenge finisher" will get a $10 coupon. Challenges close Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 11:59pm EDT.
Quite a challenge! Your layout is lovely. Now to put on my thinking cap .... I used the We minikit I purchased at SOSN today and it works with my idea. The photo is totally random and one can see a glimpse of the mess in the front. Opening presents on Christmas morning -- always chaotic!
At first glance, this may not read as a "Christmas" layout. But the truth of Christmas is at the heart of it. He is here. Emmanuel; He is with us. I wanted to illustrate this stanza from Christ for the Nations (my alma mater) He is Here: "The King is in the room".
I'm not sure if this is what you had in mind, because my photos aren't super Christmas-y, but they are from Christmas so I went with a non-Christmas kit.
I went with a non-Christmas photo of a door and dressed it up with a Christmas wreath and used Christmas paper and elements.
