Day22 Moc6 Mosaic Tried a couple of different photos. I liked the colors on this one so I used the technique we learned in the dispersion challenge to remove the people from the photo and have a cleaner scene for the mosaic. Then played with the blend modes to get this look. This is the original photo
Well I very quickly did 2 photos, but did not like either result when used with the same photo... Had wondered about using 2 photos, and see that is OK... Your instructions were wonderful... so easy to do, and so much fun... will have to play more ... GOTTA find the PERFECT one! right??/ That is just me... I always have to make it difficult!
thank you for renaming the layers in your screen shots. It makes it easier to follow, and even though I've used some of these filters and other "tricks" in PS before, I've never tried it like this. It was nice to make sure I was working on the correct layer lol! Technically my background is my geometrical-ized photo blended with a paper. It is a full 12x12 size, but it was that perfectly sunny at Disney the day we visited so the sky didn't "mosaic" itself! Oh, I used content aware (thanks, Jan @IntenseMagic!) to get rid of a big light fixture. Yea for skills learned via MOC! the original:
I'll be honest. I'm not sure I like this. Maybe it's due to Artisan and the fact that the tiles won't go very large.... And, my original picture is the one in the lower right of the page.
What a beautiful example layout! Thank you for the tutorial - this was such a fun technique and something I would never have thought of. I clipped my mosaic to a mask - hopefully that counts as an "irregular shape!" My original image:
Thanks for the fun challenge-- I kinda copied your idea of a beautiful outdoor photo with the sky, but this photo was from a sunrise walk on the beach we did over Spring Break last March. I loved the way the technique turned out! Here is my original photo:
Here's the original photo: And here's my layout: With a little practice, perhaps I can do better but it is an interesting concept. Several hours later: I have had time to play with a second and different photo and it turned out much better. Wish I had waited and used it for a layout. Oh, well ... I'm saving it for another challenge. Thanks for the instructions. Even with PS CS2 they were easy to follow although they didn't line up exactly with my version.
loved this... despite initially thinking... what the? will definitely use the technique again. the original photo used is also showing on the page... beautiful Venice... and my page...
This was so fun! I got carried away creating my scene (LO) that I managed to drop the size of my mosaic. Submitted a cropped version of the final page as I love it too much to try another LO around it. Thanks for the 2 hours of pure fun! And for the great technique! oops, photo is just below - second one under here - Chrome won't let me edit this post. Apologies.
Wow this was soooo much fun! Thank you, and thank you for your tutorial, it made it so easy too. Here is my layout And this is the pic I turned into a mosaic
