Oh dear! You Seattle people take rain so seriously that you must include it 3 times in your forecast for a single day! *giggle* It's rainy here. But the weather just says "heavy rain and a thunderstorm; breezy; and storms may bring torrential downpours and winds" or something to that effect.
You never want to hear the word TORRENTIAL in a forecast. Let's hope Mother nature gets it out of its system and moves on to spring.
It snowed this morning but it has melted thankfully. It's been cold & windy & rainy all week here which is a total bummer since it's my daughter's Spring Break & we can't go and do anything outside.
We just got home from visiting my family (centralia/chehalis area) and I guess I brought the rain back with me- it is supposed to be rainy the rest of the week here in Spokane, WA but then nice for the weekend (when my kiddos have soccer games, so I'll take that forecast!)
Oh my gosh, today's a great day for this question! First, my response to the original post: The forecast in my weather app (the not-very-accurate iPhone default weather app) this morning showed thunderstorm symbols for every hour today. Indeed, we've had some dramatic thunder showers. One crack of thunder was so loud it made me jump and I was sure it would wake my 10 year old (though I was wrong). But also the clouds parted a few times, giving us brilliant sunshine and blue skies. And it also hailed. And about 20 miles west of me, there was a tornado. A FB friend from about 30 miles north mentioned a tornado warning. And I heard some schools canceled today. It's beautifully sunny but some ominous looking clouds remain and there have been some big gusts of wind, as the afternoon turns into evening.

Another Michigander here and yes - snow/rain mix today - HORRIBLE on April 6! Needing some sun...I bet you are too in Seattle! Ugh..still getting lows in the 30s. Silver lining is that Sunday we might hit 70 degrees and partial sun!
And that is why when Amazon called me to ask me in for an interview a couple of years ago I could very easily tell them thank you, but no. I need the sun- Darren says I'm solar powered. Yesterday we were at 80 degrees, which was lovely. Then what was supposed to be a storm system blew through, but it ended up only being windy and cold instead of windy and rainy and cold. We went from 80 during the day to 40-something overnight! It's supposed to warm back up this weekend, though.
Just kidding ... ended up raining all day with tonight turning into a huge storm. Down to 47 degrees. Crazy wind. Thunder. Ugh!!
Friday April 7, 2017 in Ottawa: Rain, Mixed Percipitation (i.e. Rain and Snow), Light Rain, Cloudy with Showers. The temperature is hovering around the 2-3 degrees mark. We've been having a miserable spring, but Monday is supposed to go up to 21C (not sure what that is in F, but it's like, room temperature).
