Soooo. . . While I am waiting to hear if my computer will ever work again I am in desperate need of distraction. I want to create something but am feeling too down to be rightly inspired. I have been staring at my few art supplies that have arrived for about 30 minutes and not done a thing!! How about you show me your FAVE art journaler or mixed media artist. Link me up with a web page, blog, Pinterest board, gallery, WHATEVER!! Lol. Just help me take my mind off all this while hubby does his thing. Then maybe I can be inspired to make something and find a creative release.
Start by scribbling? That always helps me release some anger. From there I can usually make a shape or flower around my anger, and help me see myself visually enclosing my anger into something more beautiful. I'm not sure if that helps you. I don't have a specific artist or website to point you to, unfortunately.

What about watercolors and markers and just draw doodles. I love the scribbling idea. Write words that come to mind and if it's words you want to express and go away scribble or stamp or paint. Don't go for beauty and good enough. In fact make a rule that you 're doing the opposite or be like a kid. Play. No rules. I would think looking at others right now might be frustrating. Because you know what ends up happening is we start comparing and critiquing our work. And yes I am turning those words on myself because I get caught up in it so easily.
My favorite mixed media scrapbooker/art journaler is without a doubt Wilna Furstenburg. http://www.wilnafurstenberg.com/blog Her art is so bright and colorful and pretty! She does a lot of YouTube videos and is just amazing! I also love Vicky Papaioannou's art journaling. She also uses a ton of color, and she is really good at explaining her process.
you know what!! lay out all your supplies on the table, close your eyes and pick 3 . Use it to do create anything!!
Thanks so much you guys - I had some fun - the kids wanted to go to the playground again so I took a little tote with supplies and played. Will try to load up some of it for you when I get the devices talking to each other again!
I absolutely love and adore Teesha Moore. Not only is she an amazing art journaler, she's also sweet and humble. http://www.teeshamoore.com/
I also love Roben Marie Smith for her use of color.... http://www.robenmarie.com/ and Anahata Katkin just creates gorgeous things. http://www.anahataart.com/ And Sabrina Ward Harrison always inspires me. But she's sort of elusive. https://www.instagram.com/sabrinawardharrison/?hl=en
Thanks @scrapsandsass _ had forgotten about Teesha - I love her too! @PLM I will have to scan or photograph it for you - I did not do it all on one day - but it was good to have something to do while the ole computer got fixed.
