So a bit of a techy question here, hoping someone can help, I recently (finally) updated my mac from whatever the OS was to Snow Leopard (I know I'm still behind even with that update). Since then I've been getting an error when I try to save my layouts in Photoshop 4. When I try to save as a PSD I get this error message "Cannot save 'filename' due to system error" Saving my layout by using "save for web & device" works just fine, but saving a PSD file or TIFF does not. Does anyone have any suggestions why this is happening and how I can fix it??
Do you mean PS 4 from like 15 years ago, or PS CS4? If it's actually PS4, it might not be compatible anymore.
i would probably try uninstalling and reinstalling PS to see if it makes a difference. something probably went wonky in your upgrade process.
before you reinstall, have you just tried adding .tiff or .psd to the end of your file's name? Sometimes I get a similar message and it took forever to figure out that was all I had to do.
Oh Yes! I should have come back here and updated! I uninstalled and reinstalled and it seems to be fine now - hope it sticks! I personally think it was just Adobe's way of roping me into the cloud!
