Congratulations to our February Art Journal Muse Winner @Dady I'll be contacting you soon with your prize information. ******************************************************For week 4 of the February Art Journaling Muse, we are still looking at shapes in art journaling. This week our focus is on Hexagons. We will be looking at using a hexagon or hexagons as the primary design element. I have to admit that I was pretty excited to focus on shapes this month. Ever since I saw hexagons showing up in scrapbooking I have been in love. Using them for art journaling makes it even more exciting. Let's start off defining a hexagon. (It's like we are back in high school geometry.) Hexagons are 2D geometric polygons, known for being in honeycombs and pencils. A hexagon has six sides and six interior angles. Here are a couple of visual examples. Also, if you've ever played Settlers of Catan. That game board is made up of hexagons. So now that we have an understanding of the shape that we will be focusing on this week, lets take a look at some examples of hexagons in use. First we have some design ideas from the home. Let's take a look at hexagons in art. Here are a few examples from the gallery here at TLP where hexagons are definitely the primary design element. From @janedee From leugoscrap From @chigirl And here's my page. I can't wait to see what y'all create with hexagons as the primary design element. Theme, colors, everything else is up to you.
