Hi Everyone! We are back to our regularly scheduled program of challenges! I know that some of you are wishing for the same momentum and some are taking a little breather! Either way, happy February! So, this month I will be hosting a Style Challenge! Yay! I've got something up my sleeve and hope you like it! We will focus on OMBRE, aka gradients or color transitions. An ombre effect is the visual graduation from a light color to a dark color or vice-versa. Many times it is from light to dark or dark to light of the same color. But, not always. There are times when the color follows that pattern but the colors are different. Your page must include some noticeable Ombre Style. Here is a page I made just to show off this challenge. Mine is Ombre on the background paper as well as the title! I used MPM Jingle and Scrapping with Liz Simple & Sweet 1. I can't wait to see what you create! And to give you more examples, here are some older pages I have that use the Ombre Style: The title is a Ombre Effect on the title: Background paper is showing the Ombre Effect on these layouts: Also, here is an old tutorial on Scrapping with Liz's blog for backgrounds: http://www.scrappingwithliz.com/2015/04/tutorial-gradient-backgrounds.html As always, please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the February Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread (please use "share BB IMG code" found on the right side in the gallery). The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
I put a gradient on the area beside the photo, I tried to match the sky color, but it didn't really work, I also put a texture on it, so it didn't look so plane.
I rarely use the ombre, and it so pretty. I will definitely use it more. I put it on the blending mask to the right
Thanks for the challenge! I used the gradient layer and 2 different blue papers (one behind and one clipped to it) to create an ombre background for my page.
Thanks Jenn for hosting. I used a black to transparent mask on the spoon paper to blend with the off white solid.. loved this tyle challenge!
