January 16 | Combine Two Templates Challenge Welcome to Day 16 of the Month of Challenges 11! I am excited to bring you one of my favorite things to do in digital scrapping: Combining two templates together to make a new design. You have the freedom of choosing which two templates you want to combine. The only requirement is that you use templates from two different Lilypad designers. Challenge Requirements: You must combine parts from two different page templates to create a new page design. The page templates you use to build your new design must be from two different Lilypad designers. Use the new design to make a digital page with Lilypad product. Be sure to identify the two templates you used in your gallery credits. Posting and General MOC Requirements: Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places: Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site). Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish. Your page must contain Lilypad product (pages with photos and font only do not count). Product from other stores will not be allowed for MOC; your pages must contain 100% Lilypad product (current or retired product from designers or guest designers presently selling at The Lilypad). Here is my page (made with kits from the fabulous January 2023 BYOC): I used these two templates: To make this new page design: I took the photo grouping from Rachel's Intrinsic template, enlarged it and placed it on NBK's template (using it as the background). This is my favorite template combination technique. I looooove all of those multi-photo pocket scrapping style templates, but I'm almost always a one-photo scrapper. This is my favorite way to use those amazing pocket templates with my scrapping style. I hope you have fun with this challenge and discover a new way to enjoy templates that you love, but might not use otherwise. I can't wait to see all of your inspiring template combinations!
Reserved for questions. Question: Do you mean only page layout templates? Or could you combine a page layout template with a photo frame template? I think you mean page templates. Answer: Yes, page templates. The idea is to combine the design elements you love from each page design and make a new one. Question: SwL has a couple of border templates. I assume you mean full size page templates? Answer: Yes, full-sized page templates. Question: I usually modify templates quite a bit. How well noticible does it need to be that there are two templates used? I did this for a MOC11 on a different day, and basically used a base template for my photo's and then some elements and clusters from the other template. Is that enough? Or do I really need to layer the two? Answer: We need to be able to see that you combined the design elements from two different page templates. You can choose what parts you want to integrate into the new design and how you want to do it.
I always love the template challenges for MOC! This one has a fun twist! At first, when I saw "combine two templates" I thought it was a smoosh with two specific templates like we've done in the past. Now I see that we can smoosh any two templates. COOL!

@HeyJude Similar question: SwL have a couple of border templates. But like Laura,I assume you mean full size page templates?
