It was just today (after uploading literally 100's of layouts?) that I noticed the Add Tags under the image title . . . how is that meant to be used? Do I add tags to describe the layout such as pattern paper, stitching, alpha, etc? Or is that to tag the designers?
I am not sure Lori.. it may be for #and designers but maybe Courtney knows better.. I never use it. @bestcee can you help with this ? I know you are the Tech guru for me
I never use those tags either (I always forget), but you can type whatever you want in there and then when people are searching the gallery, those tags would be searched too. So if you wanted to add Birthday, Teen, Boy, etc. Or like you said, you could list the types of products you used. You can use it for whatever you like.
It is a cool feature to be able to add tags for a variety of elements/papers/techniques so you can search later. To search by tag in the gallery, navigate to the Gallery and then choose SEARCH GALLERY. Then choose SEARCH TAGS. When you do that, you can see the most popular tags. You can either type in the tags you are searching for, or you can click on one of the most popular tags in the list and it will show you layouts with that tag.
I do not use the tagging option, but I know at least one of my CTMs uses it. Honestly, it's one of those things that are in my head that I need to implement, but then when I start posting layouts, I forget.
I just kinda describe my page when I remember to add tags in the upload process. I think of it as more 'bridge' or search tags than notifying a designer, I think that's what the 'designer galleries' are for (but ironically I don't tag my stash) This is basically what I do. The last page I uploaded I tagged as' flowers, paint, watercolors ' & this is it
When I remember, I tend to tag things like football, sports or pets, dogs. I think of what I would want to search on tags and then tag my pages accordingly. Like Justine, I use designer galleries when I want to "tag" a designer.
I always mean to do more tagging and then just forget when I'm actually uploading. I did tag all of my PL layouts last year so that I could access them all in one place. I just did something like like #intensemagicpl
I use it for every layout, I tag the LO with CT page if it's for a Creative Team. Also to tag my niece or nephew, mom or dad, brothers and sister-in-law. Also the theme or season, date, month and the designer. It really helps me to track down certain LOs in the (my) gallery!
