February Inspiration Challenge

When I can figure out how to insert the book cover, I'll come back and do it.

@Smileark: You can use the "Upload a File" tab at bottom of post, if you've downloaded the book cover image. If not, and you go back to the source, right click on the cover, SAVE IMAGE LINK, then use the little photo box up in the post toolbar (the one that looks like a mini landscape). Click it, add the URL, and you are good to go. The image will appear in your post.

I used the book Spilling Open by Sabrina Ward Harrison, published in 1999, it's a multi-media journal about finding yourself, a very, very cool book and it reminds of my precious daughter who is only 21 and pregnant. I can tell it's been hard for her and this photo is her profile photo for her first ever professional job (she is still there less than a year later), so full of hope & excitement here. Now it's a different kind of excitement mixed in with anxiety and soul searching. I'm so grateful I'm her mom and I pray I can be supportive to her thru this process. I had my children late in life, 32, 36 and twins at 41, so I could not imagine being so young and having a child and this crazy world, but here we are, it's happening and I'm praying everyday and thanking God too. My book cover is in the layout and layout credits are in Gallery.

Great challenge. I found lots of covers I wanted to use but some were a bit too tricky for me. I went with Twice The Speed Of Dark which isn’t a book I’ve read but I really liked the overlapping circles of different landscapes.

Here's my take on the challenge:

book cover inspiration:

I turned the photo into a sketch/painting and blended it in with the background, then kept the title simple.

And because I just couldn't decide which book to choose, I did two, LOL

book cover inspiration:

The main inspiration for this was the tiger ... but I also included foliage and blended the image of the tiger in to the background.
