EDIT: I was made aware that my layout wasn't fulfilling the brief, so I've replaced it with a modified version which hopefully will My attempt at this challenge... I hope I did things right, this is really out of my comfort zone. I used all those elements that look to me like watercolour stamps, and to make them even more so, I played with the layer modes and opacity, to add a little more transparency. I used 3 individual leaf stamps, one leaf cluster stamp, one palm tree stamp, one coconut drink stamp, one sun stamp, one dots stamp, one line stamp and one paint mess stamp. (Please let me know if it's not fulfilling the brief) Found here (I had a hard time swapping the photo as the old version kept showing up with the BB code despite having changed it in the gallery). Done with Summer Fun and the Summer Fun Papers by Paula Kesselring
I found a picture of my son with his beloved and very messy Jeep - so, my page has a lot of messy elements - all from Micheline Lincoln's collection 35MM Remix. I counted at least ten layers of paint, doodles, and stamps. The photomask was created from two paint layers fused together. I included the camera stamp since he (like me) takes a lot of pictures and the map stamp in the upper left corner represents his many travels including driving his Jeep to California. He was heading out on that trip when this picture was snapped. A bit out of my comfort zone, but a great challenge!
This might be a silly question. A brush is similar to a stamp, right? Do I have to "stamp" in black, or could I recolor the black image with another color? Not clipping a paper over it, but changing its color from black to, say, blue? Sort of like stamping with a different colored ink. Please accept my apology if this doesn't make any sense. This is a very new idea to me and I'm seeking to understand.
I hope I did this correctly. I recolored a couple of the stamps from grey to light teal and medium teal. If this isn't allowed, I can very easily unclip the solid-colored box that I made and clipped over the stamps. This was a good brain-stretching challenge for me and I hope that it's OK. So... if I hadn't recolored, it would look like this, and I think this follows the rules, yes?
Well I did this this morning and it has sat all day... I see no reason to change anything , so here it is... Hope it passes muster... for me Mixed media includes all those 3 D items also... flowers string... etc... so it feels half finished.... so I have ink, paint, gesso. paper pieces no drop shadow...
Thanks for the great challenge! Like many others I had to restrain myself not to add any 3D elements, but I really enjoyed playing around with all the paints!
This was definitely a challenge for me because I love using 3d elements. Thank you for the challenge. I used t is for together - the complete mixed media collection because it had so many mixed media that worked for this challenge.
