so long story short, chrome has not been my friend, i'm really not a fan of MS Edge and so now I'm using Firefox mostly, so i'm reinstalling add-ons and things slowly instead of throwing my laptop out the window which is how i've been for the last several months So if you use a blocker, which one and do you think it does a good job or is it almost as annoying as ad's, turning it off and on all the time?
I use Malwarebytes and Webroot and don't have those pesky pop-ups. I pay for both of them, but they're worth it.
I use MS Edge with AdBlock Plus. Also used AdBlock Plus with Chrome. You can whitelist sites to show ads if you want.
I'm gonna show my ignorance here... I don't think I have anything extra installed for ad blocking, but I don't get pop ups, so I might have something inside Chrome that does that for me.
I'm pretty sure I used to have an ad blocker but for the life of me can't remember what it was. Like @Karen I use Google Chrome, don't get pop ups either so there might be some setting already set for me not to see pop ups
AdBlock Plus with Mozilla Firefox, and AdBlock Ultimate especially for FB, otherwise is full of nonsense ads. When using Chrome AdBlock Plus But I'm using Linux because using windows it was a nightmare for me.
AdblockPlus for me. I use it on Chrome, Firefox, and my phone. It's a must - especially with recipe sites. Plus, there's a newspaper I pay for, and it drives me nuts that it still shows me tons of ads even though I pay. I like how easy it is to turn AdblockPlus on and off if I need to. It's rare that I need to, but I've also whitelisted sites that I use often. Like I have a recipe site that is whitelisted because having the ads is how I support her site. But, those one off just checking out the recipe? I hate when I can't see the recipe for all the ads. Ugh. They are blocked.
I have a question about Adblock Plus for iPhone. It reads, "for Safari" in the app store description. I have and use the Google app. Will it block from every browser on my phone, or just when I use Safari?
Idk for sure, I don't have an iPhone @LynnZant . But on my Android, it works best with the regular chrome browser that comes built in.
When I go to a website that won't let me continue without disabling AdBlock, I say adios and never go back. Because most of the time these are large corporate run websites that don't need the revenue from the ads.
I have adblock on my pc, but nothing on my phone and man I agree those pop-ups when all I want is a recipe are so infuriating.
