Thanks for the challenge MY SISTER. I have a recurring dream which I guess must fall into the nightmares category.

Mine is a bit lighter - sharing Mickey's (and my) nightmare of having to fight off the villians... but always with a happy ending!

I really thought I was going to struggle with journaling on this one but the thoughts just kept flowing - thanks for the push to get some of those thoughts out. My nightmares seem to evolve, the journaling explains it better with more detail but as a kid it was being chased, now as a mom it's missing things I need to see for the kids, especially navigating a genetic issue with one, and then feeling like a fraud because I don't know where I fit in as a mom - not quite a "medical mom" but not a mom with just healthy kids who don't spend hours a week at appointment either - it's silly but sometimes that's where the mind goes, and then realizing it's that I don't have peace and need to reconnect to the peace so even with all the crazy and hard things I can live fully and with joy.

Wow, I struggled with this-either my lousy memory is protecting me or I really only have had one nightmare in my life. It was a doozy though.

    In my nightmare
    I look out my bedroom
    window and see the whole
area flooded. I can only see the
very tops of the trees sticking out of
a raging sea. Then I can feel the house
start to tilt and I can hear what sounds
like an old ship creaking and the old
beam from 1850 cracks in half
    in our basement. All the
    furniture starts to slide.
    The whole house flips over
into the sea, then I wake up.

Ok, I got some journaling out ... this was necessary, but it sucks to have to document it. It's been almost nine months since our nightmare became a reality. And that night is still so vivid in my memory.

@MrsPeel - Well, I'm not going to make it this time. One of my nightmares came true. We are in the middle of an "emergency put Mom in memory care" week. Sigh. It wasn't anticipated right now, but a few things got out of hand the past couple of weeks - I think blowing up a microwave may have been the straw that broke the camel's back - and her current in-home care company has said it's time. I'm an only child, so Dh and I are on our own. But I didn't want you to wonder where my LO went!

I have many nightmares, but many are too chaotic and personal to share. This one works...
