Hi there! I currently use ACDSee to organize my supply stash. I'm using version 20. Is there any benefit to upgrading to the latest version of their Photo Studio? I use Photoshop so am not interested in a different editing program, but I like the category and keyword function of ACDSee. Has anyone upgraded past vs. 20?
I've got 18. I did email them once to ask about the photo studio, and they told me that if I only used the tagging functionality not to go for photo studio. So just stay with the standard ACDSee. I'd recommend staying with 20 until you start having issues with it then upgrade to the most current version of ACDSee then.
Nope, I have Photo Studio 2018 still. Since I'm not worried about the extra features, I haven't bothered to upgrade.
I went from a VERY OLD and unsupported 2017 version to Home 2021 recently. I love it, especially the People function though it doesn't always categorize photos perfectly. As for the category and keyword function I think they're intact and probably work the same, but I've never really actively used them. My stash is so huge it's Mission Impossible . Hope this helps? If you have any specific questions, let me know @DivaMom96
I do have Home 2021 but that’s only cause I had a new hard drive installed after a crash and weirdly had no documentation of having previously purchased ACDSee so had to start from scratch. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t have upgraded/updated as whatever edition I had before was absolutely fine for what I used it for.
Thank you, ladies! I appreciate your honest feedback. I'll stick with my vs. 20. @littlekiwi - I've had that problem with programs before. I've learned to keep the zip file of original app download so that I can I reinstall if needed. @Vrielinkie - I only use the category/keyword function of ACDSee; I use Photoshop for everything else. If I ever decide to switch, I'll let you know. Thanks again!!!
