Hey there, pad scrappers! Is anyone else like me, scrolling Instagram and always behind on these "special" days like international dog day, world siblings day, string cheese day, shoes without laces day (not sure that one's real), etc?! Who makes these things up and how does everyone else always have a picture ready to post! Well, I have done some research so we will all be prepared for September. I have compiled a list of things to celebrate in September taken from nationaltoday.com (if you're interested). I purposefully did not choose actual holidays and I still don't know who started these, but here you go. Your photography challenge for this month is to scrap a photograph using one of the special days in September as your prompt. Let me tell you, there is something for everyone. You may even have trouble choosing just one! Sept. 1 - World Letter Writing Day Sept. 2 - World Coconut Day Sept. 3 - National Lazy Moms Day (As if a mom would be able to celebrate this!) Sept. 4 - National Wildlife Day Sept. 5 - International Day of Charity Sept. 6 - National Read a Book Day Sept. 7 - National Beer Lover's Day Sept. 8 - National Ampersand Day Sept. 9 - Teddy Bear Day Sept. 10 - Stand up to Cancer Day Sept. 11 - National Make Your Bed Day (definitely sharing this one with the kids!) Sept. 12 - GrandParent's Day Sept. 13 - European Heritage Day Sept. 14 - National Coloring Day Sept. 15 - International Dot Day (infinity mirrors exhibit, anyone?) Sept. 16 - Collect Rocks Day Sept. 17 - International Country Music Day Sept. 18 - National Dance Day Sept. 19 - Talk Like a Pirate Day Sept. 20 - National Pepperoni Pizza Day Sept. 21 - International Day of Peace Sept. 22 - Hobbit Day Sept. 23 - Redhead Appreciation Day Sept. 24 - World Bollywood Day Sept. 25 - National Daughters Day Sept. 26 - National Pancake Day Sept. 27 - National No Excuses Day Sept. 28 - National Neighbor Day Sept. 29 - National Coffee Day (lookin at you, Christa ) Sept. 30 - International Pod Cast Day Just to clarify, this is a photography prompt challenge. Scrap a photo using one of the days above as your prompt. You may have multiple photos on the page. You do not have to take the photo on the specific date, or even reference the special day on your page. But please do tell me which day you used when you post in this thread. Here is my page. Inspired by September 5, International Day of Charity. I hope you have fun with this one. Can't wait to see your pages! Gentle Reminder: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the September Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
Stand Up To Cancer Day. My husband just finished his Chemotherapy treatments for stomach cancer yesterday. It's been a hard nine months. Chemo started in February, his stomach was removed in June, and then he had 5 more treatments after that. He is Cancer Free!!
This was a fun one... and as soon as I saw Talk Like A Pirate Day, I knew what I was going to scrap about Thanks for the push to finally get these pictures scrapped!!
I chose: Sept. 1 - World Letter Writing Day I write letters to the elderly people from church so they get something special in their mailbox
I am going with Sept. 13 - European Heritage Day Mine is the three photos from a day in a most stunning church in Milan, no, not Duomo, St Eustorgio
