I empathize with all of you trying to do this challenge in smoky areas. We don't have smoke, but we do have enough atmospheric particulates from the fires that we don't have strong sunlight where I am. Around midday we do get some sun, but it's directly overhead and shadows are short. I keep thinking, "today, I'll get the photo..."

    But no. Sigh.

ETA: Artificial light may be an option, but this is a rental cottage with limited options. Wonder if DH would hold both phones and the flashlight for me as a light source? Wonder if we would survive that as a couple? LOL!

LOL the extremes one considers going to - artificial light is our go to for shadow puppets and i imagine whatever light source you use would be fine for here, whether it's ok with your DH is a whole other issue! good luck!

Well, after weeks of smoke from the fires, the sun came out and I grabbed at the chance!
