Hello Lilypad Readers! I hope you are all enjoying the last batch of books that we picked out and also that you've read some other great books to suggest for our next batch! We have a fun informal book club here at The Lilypad and it's open to anyone and everyone who likes to read! For this thread we are looking for suggestions for what to read together over the next four months. Everyone can suggest one book for now because when I do the voting poll, I can only have 10 selections in the poll. I will leave this thread open until July 29th or until we get 10 suggestions. Then I will open up a voting poll. Once we vote, I'll start a new thread for each of the four top books... one per month, for the next four months starting in September. You can see the complete list of our old picks in our Master Reading List. You can read the books in any order and at any time. If you want to chat about the books, just reply to that thread. Easy peasy! So.... what should we read together next? 1. West With Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge 2. The Return by Nicholas Sparks 3. The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica 4. One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London 5. News of the World by Paulette Jiles 6. Seven Sister by Lucinda Riley 7. The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead 8. The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune 9. In the Woods by Tana French 10. An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth by Chris Hadfield
I'm going to dive right in with a book that I just finished and absolutely loved called West With Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge.
I have no suggestions but I love seeing everyone else’s! I haven’t been reading as much this summer. Maybe when the kids are back in school…
I've just enjoyed News of the World by Paulette Giles (apparently there's a movie). A friend recommended The Seven Sisters (and the rest of the series) by Lucinda Riley.
I'm surprised my library had the Kindle version for download when I just checked. I'll get a head start.
Tana French is one of my fave authors, so I'm going to put up the first in her Dublin Murder Squad series.. In the Woods..
I read this in the last week of 2020 and loved it! As did my daughter Rhiannon, who is the one who picked it out, read it first, and suggested it to me.
I'm currently reading Chris Hadfield's An Astronaut's Guide to Life (narrated by him on Audible) and enjoying it, if you need another suggestion. Edited to add: Almost forgot! Next Audible book waiting for me is Jodi Picoult's Leaving Time.
I'm going update this in the morning. I'm tuckered out getting ready for summer school tomorrow. Lol.
