Hey Everyone! It's June! Wooooo Hooooo.... part of my favorite season by me, Summer! So, my computer is giving me hell and not working properly. I either have to replace my laptop, or change everything up, and venture into scrapping on an iPad. I feel that these are the same, but still 2 different extremes. With that in mind, you guys get to choose your extreme when creating a layout! I should make this a random poll - Choice 1 is a laptop and Choice 2 is an ipad, lol! For our June Challenge, we are doing a Blind Recipe Challenge - Extreme Choice! I will post 2 sets of directions and you choose one set of directions to follow and create your layout. Choice #1 Directions: 1. No background paper. (No papers, no colors, plain white background). 2. Choose one (1) large photo. It should be no more than a quarter (25%) of your page. 3. Seven (7) different patterned paper pieces must be on your page. 4. One (1) piece of washi tape. 5. Two (2) flowers and three (3) pieces of foliage/leaves. 6. One (1) Extra Large single word title. 7. One (1) piece of word art. Journaling is ok how you see fit. Done. Choice #2 Directions: 1. Choose at least one (1) or more photos to BLEND into your background. 2. Use multiple paint, papers, splatters, masks, and cover 100% of the background. 3. Two (2) quotes, poems or song lyric/partial song lyrics on your page. 4. Five (5) different scatters should be on your page. 5. One (1) torn or worn frame with or without a photo inside. 6. Nine (9) different flowers must be included on your page. No shadowed foliage/green/leaves. 7. Three (3) different hand drawn items. Journaling is ok how you see fit. Done. So, I am picturing pages with each set of direction as being opposites. What do you think?! When posting your layout, just let me know if you chose #1 or #2, though I'm thinking I'll be able to tell by the backgrounds, lol! Cannot wait to see what you create! My layout.... As always, please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the May Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
I feel your pain! Hope your computer will be up and running asap! Now to figure out which one of these recipes to use....
I am not certain if I interpreted the no background correctly, but hopefully, fingers crossed. I picked variant 1
Yes, totally. There was no requirement how you were to use the paper pieces. This shows me a white background, it's perfect. Nicely done!
Your choice of Laptop or iPad would really depend on a couple of things. Do you currently use an Apple computer or a PC. Also which program you use for your layouts etc. This may not be available on the iPad or be a limited version of that program. Storage is also another factor. Where do you store your stash? Personally, I use a PC laptop with my stash on an attached external hard drive that I can move between my laptop and my desktop.
Thanks! I have scrapped both on Apple and Windows laptops and I use Photoshop. I have not yet scrapped on an iPad, so that would have a learning curve - both learning what Photoshop capabilities I might miss... or using Affinity/Pixelmator or the like. Storage I can use Smugmug for things, but would probably end up using GoogleDrive or DropBox to keep them altogether. I would be changing my whole system of how I've scrapped for the last 16 years. I think more and more will be available on iPads and it's more of do I want to jump now... or later.
