Our last April is for ARTSPIRATION featured artist is Linda Vachon. While Linda Vachon's recent work uses a bit of whimsy and bold colors, I am a BIG fan of Ms. Vachon's older works using blended photographs and elements of typography. I rather like the eerie creepiness and find these works have a haunting beauty. I highly recommend listening to The Cure BURN while perusing Ms. Vachon’s galleries. Fantastic challenge Lisa and artist! Actually your work reminds me very much of Linda Vachon's work, your use of dark colour tones and ghostly touches using text and brushes really create such a dreamy and haunting atmosphere. Linda's work also calls to mind the graphics used for the Real Detective TV show. LOL! and The Cure, haven't listened to them in ages! going to go to do now while I peruse Linda V's gallery or works.
Oh good - I was just thinking there should be a AJ challenge soon. Very interesting art inspiration, Lisa!! Love the pages so far.
This month's challenges were some of the BEST! Thank you for taking this Muse back to the heart of AJ! Can you find what isn't what it seems?
I was so drawn to that image of the trees, in the first block of art. I took one of my photographs of a tree and altered it to give it a surreal look. That's the background of my page. I didn't get any real clear "draw" except that she seems to use a lot of eyes, which I also love to use. My pops of color came to me in the butterflies and the bird. I had a lot of fun with this and enjoyed this month's series very much!
Mine. The least favourite of the Muses this month, but only because even with her more recent works, it was hard to get past the dark and dreary. But I really enjoyed the Muses this month, it was a super way to challenge us. So for what it is worth here is mine
Thank you so much for another great challenge, here's my take, full credits in gallery. Wishing you a very beautiful weekend!
I'm not sure if the technique is what I was hoping for, but I tried... The photo has a bunch of filters applied to it along with a paper overlay. Pocket page anyone?
It posted just fine! And I hope your computer is doing fine too! I am enjoying your Aries series of JCs!!
