It's cheese fries day... YAY! My favorite cheese fries are from Texas Roadhouse! I love the thick steak fries piled high with melty cheese, real bacon bits and extra ranch for dipping.... YUM! Are you a cheese fries fan?
I usually prefer my fries with nothing on top to make them mushy. I like dipping them in ranch or ketchup or even a cheesy sauce. The pic you shared looks oh so yummy though!
I love all kinds of fries... fat or thin. Well, except for sweet potato fries. That's a no-no for me. I can't wait til I can eat fries again. I'm going to make my chicken cheese fries which are just potatoes smothered in chicken gravy (broiled about 30 minutes) then put cheese on top and broil for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly. Fair fries are dynamite... really thin, strings of fries then smothered in vinegar. We used to keep vinegar on the table when I was growing up so I could put it on fries when Mom fixed them, but they just weren't as good as the fair fries. Probably because the home made fries were thicker than the fair fries. Gah, I really miss eating fries.
Thankfully the cheese Texas Roadhouse uses is just melted shredded cheddar and the fries are thick and crispy so they don't get mushy. There's nothing worse than a soggy french fry.
We were actually going to make cheese fries for dinner tonight and Chance changed his mind, opting for pizza instead. I LOVE cheese fries with bacon and jalapenos!!
I have never met a fry I didn't like, including cheese fries! And your pic from Texas Roadhouse is making me crave them right now. My husband and I do take out for date nights on Thursday evenings and I think I may have to order some!
I love cheesy fries! This just reminded me that I have some Daiya brand “cheeze” sauce that I could try this with. My day would be made if it worked out!
My fave is poutine - fries, gravy and cheese curds. My second fave is chili fries with cheese (with no meat). YUM!!!!
Looks amazing. I am on the fries as they come bandwagon too though. man, the calorie load of them fries must be next level.
