Hi! Welcome to this month's technique scrap =) This month, we have been discussing a variety of techniques to use the brush tool: HERE is the thread ********************************* Please post your completed layout in The Lilypad gallery. GALLERY RULES: Layouts must contain at least 50% TLP products. (Templates count as 15%.) Uploads must be less than 250k. List all credits; no off-site linking allowed. You have 24 hours to complete your LOs....they are due March 28 at 12pm Eastern ********************************** INSTRUCTIONS 1. Create a new Layout 2. Add a SQUARE. This square should be filled with a photo 3. On a NEW layer: using the BRUSH tool, create a SCALLOPED BORDER around the square. (I used a 100px hard round brush, spacing at 90%) - Clip a solid color PAPER and add a DROP SHADOW to make it look like you've added a paper mat NOTE: this layer should go UNDER the photo layer *TIP: if you start at one corner and hold the shift key and then click on the next corner, you'll get a straight line 4. Add a TAG or JOURNAL CARD 5. On the SAME layer as the TAG/JC: using the BRUSH tool, add a STAMP on the TAG/JC...it can go over a bit onto the background, if you'd like, to add definition. (I set my brush to DISSOLVE mode) 6. On a NEW layer: using the BRUSH tool, create some CONFETTI (I used a small butterfly brush, and set my spacing to 100, scatter to 1000% and added a drop shadow) 7. Add anything else to make the LO one you LOVE! I can't wait to see your take on today's challenge!
Here is mine Thanks for the fun, Farrah! (confetti shamrock clover brush with hue set to change different colors & noise adj filter used to create glitter)
Thanks for the push to use brushes. I neglect them. I'm especially proud of my confetti. I didn't have the gumption to find the lessons I'd missed this month but using your slow scrap directions as a starting point and just clicking on various settings in the Brushes menus, I was impressed that I can make my own confetti! I'm less happy with my splatter. If I find the lesson post will it tell me how to make it look good over the shadowed edge of my journal card? Also I was confused by the direction to make the splatter on the same layer as the card because then it was taking on the shadow style of the card. So I made the splatter on its own layer.
@FarrahJobling dear, thank you so much for hosting and sharing your knowledge, so sorry that I missed this chat, our internet had some issues and we were without internet access for some hours, now seems it's working again. Here's my take, full credits in gallery. Wishing you a very beautiful weekend!
I wish I had been at your chat Farrah, but I feel like I learned some new things from your tutorial, so thank you!
