Hi everyone, Barbara here with you for week 3 and then week 4. For week 3 are are going to create Movement on your layout. What is Movement? We cannot physically have things move, but we can design in a way which gives the illusion or suggestion of movement. This typically involves arranging shapes in a way which leads the viewer from one point to the next on your project. Think of the movements that birds, butterflies, wind/clouds/water swirls, rain, doodles, paints can all create with movement, if you use it in a way that will make your eye start at one point and end at another. Here is mine as an example. I used doodle to come up off my 20 and above that I used word art to create a 'rainbow'. You may create any style of layout (ie. clean and simple, artsy, pocket style etc.) you wish, with or without a photo. Create any size page you wish. This is for everyone, so have fun and see where the inspiration takes you. Please post your layout to the Art Journaling Gallery HERE prior to March 1st, 2021 and then post it in this thread by copying the code (at the right of your gallery image) from the box under "Share BB Code". We will draw a winner at the beginning of next month for a coupon!! You can use any products in The Lilypad store or retired products from current Lilypad designers, (just make sure you follow our gallery guidelines).
I added some movement to the stuff coming out of the tuba and to the water below the ship. And in the top right corner is more of her story I feel like my page is becoming a little too busy, so next week might see some parts removed... it all depends on what the 4th step is...
Interesting continuation, Barbara. I'll see what I can do to make some movement on my page. I left lots of room for "surprises" - unlike my "fill the page usual style". LOL
So: this young lady really was called "the Queen of the Ice." In 1916! How awesome is that?! I added: some snowflakes; a crown and a doodled circle (for a hockey puck); and some wordart (including some wordart on a curved path to hopefully suggest movement).
I added movement by putting some elements between the quote and the photo thus drawing the eye from the quote to the photo and tying them together.

For this week I moved my lady to the other side of the porch and added some swirling flower elements to tie her to the strange man in the window. I also added a the same flowers underneath the journaling and I added a background paper. I put a small stroke around the whole picture.
I changed the background adding in some circular motions and applied a motion blur to a copy of lady along with a curvy line and bird to show movement towards Simon (?)
Vertical leading lines in the building and the threads. My hope is that the eyes follow the stairs on up.
Well, I must have anticipated your movement suggestion since I added the stars on week 2's page. But I did add a swirl under the stars and text as well as some curly ribbon at the lower left hand corner of the page.
I moved things around a little, but hopefully you can see the arch of space elements in the night sky above her head.
