243 words For our Honolulu port, we decided to do something different and do the Famous Hole in the Wall tour with Hawaii Food Tours. I am so happy that we did! We would have never tried most of the things we ate had we not been on this tour. Some of our favorites from the tour included baked manapua (buns filled with meats or sweets) from the Royal Kitchen, coco puff pastries from Liliha Bakery which were topped with a chantilly frosting, and malasadas (golden puffs of fried dough filled with custard) from Leonard’s Bakery. Part of the tour included a walking tour of Chinatown. We went to a rice noodle factory, Ying Leong Look Funn Factory, and yes we got to see them make noodles and taste some as well. Also on our walk we samples some exotic fruits including longan, rambutan, and Maui Gold pineapple with Li hing powder. Lucky for me, Michael passed on the Spam Musabi as well as the ahi poke so I got extra. I think one of our favorites was the Five Layers of Heaven pork from Char Siu House. It was a wonderful way to spend the morning. By the time we had Leonard’s we were ready to get back to the ship warm and are belly’s full of yummy treats. Another positive from the tour, when we went back to to Honolulu we were able to revisit all our faves and then some!
