Hi everyone! You made it to February! You deserve a gold medal! Yellow gold, rose gold, whatever you prefer... I'm happy to bring you this month's style challenge and this month is all about metallics. I won't bore you with scientific groups of metals, alloys and their properties but think of the range of golds & silvers of jewellery; chrome & brass finishes of modern furniture, fixtures and appliances; and even the antique and more masculine rusted iron, tarnished copper and steel possibilities this gives your page. I'm looking forward to seeing a range of pages in the gallery featuring metallic sheens & elements this month! From full-on, heavy with metal pages (fortunately in the digi world they won't really be heavy but think the scrap-art version of heavy metal band, Metallica) to Metalicious (that I'm thinking is more the Beyonce end of my completely made-up metal layouts scale!) For this challenge, please use at least 5 metallic elements, alphas or papers. You are welcome to recolour items or apply styles. I'm a big believer in anything the paper scrappers can do, we can do digitally so this month, my sample page is inspired by the foil transfer technique (using a Minc or similar machine) in the paper world ForeverJoy - Model Behavior kit; Kristin Aagard - Gizmos and Gadgets kit; Bella Gypsy - Little Man Whimsies; Sahlin Studio - Glimmer Papers; FiddleDeeDee Designs - Coming Around Again {Dressed up} templates As always, please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the February Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
Fun challenge! 1. Heart (on photos) 2. metallic confetti (bottom left) 3. metallic sequins (top right) 4. circles (behind photos) 5. alpha (title) 6. button (3 around edges)
Well it took a lot of looking through supplies but I did it. 2 metallic papers; 1 snowflake; 1 button; 1 golden branch; quicksilver alpha; fireworks and glitter sprinkle.
Here's mine, I made it to coordinate with my blind scrap from MOC but with a lot more shiny's I used: 1. Gold Sequins 2. Gold Glitter 3. Gold Pirate Flag 5. Gold Staples 6. Skull and Cross Bones Enamel Pin 7. Gold Coin 8. Gold & Red Button
I just had to do a steampunk type layout. Used metal/patina wings, glasses, tiara, body armor, charm on tail, chromed the title and metallic glitter on mermaid tail.
Justine, I used a few golden/metalic elements(locke and key, hearts scatter, golden bow, golden rose as a button, the & card...) let me know if it's metalic enough, please!
I used gold paint, gold snowflake scatter, star (metal on word art), washer on blue flower, silver star scatter, star paper clip and staple. The ribbon in the cluster is shiny as well!
Thank you for the challenge! metals: KimJensen_AfterTheRain_cloud-wire bellagypsy_cozyup_metal jj-coffeebreak-ap jj-st16june-ep_metal deco jj-st16mar-ep-metal stars
Fun challenge! My metals: 1. staple 2. circular arrow pin 3. screw in center of gear element 4. smaller metal gear 5. Mickey head globe 6. star trio 7. star sequinsThe last two I was a little iffy on, but I have the 5 required covered.
Metallic pieces: SEA TO SHORE Alpha Set (x4? Or one metallic alpha=one metal piece? @bellbird ) metal pocket watch alpha (below SEA TO SHORE Alpha Set) (x4...?) tags with metal hooks holding alphas (x4) compass charm (bottom left) bling and metal button (bottom left) compass charm (above portrait photo) star button with metal edge (top left) metal-ish (hard to tell if it's metal) button (middle of flowers) (x3)
Either way, you have more than enough & if it looks metal-ish that's good enough for me, thanks for playing along
