January 2 - Why I scrap

I scrap for so many reasons. Or maybe I just scrap for two, my boys Alex and Ben. Or is it three because I have to count myself? I guess that's more who I scrap for that why I scrap. Scrapping is a natural progression from my photography and love of stationary and computers. I scrap digitally. I tried paper scrapping but I hate using up my precious supplies so I'll save the paper world for my card making. Scrapping is my digital creative outlet and I feel so at home when fully emersed in photoshop. I feel like I can do anything! Scrapping is also be an emotional outlet, a way to record my thoughts and feelings and reflect on things. I think visually so in many ways it's easier for me to make a picture of my memories but I always try to include a date and journaling. Scrapping is also a challenge, it keeps me thinking and pushing myself to try new techniques. I love being able to replicate paper scrapping styles without the mess, cost and need for storage space. It is also a way to use all the photos I take. Printed layouts are a great way to display my photos that would otherwise never been seen. I love to make my layouts into books and the kids love to read the memories and stories I record with my photos. They enjoy seeing themselves in my work and look for the little hidden messages in the elements I use. Mostly I scrap because I want to.
