I tried something different, hope it's what you meant about cut-up! and thanks for the chat, even with the trolls!

 

Ok, Cynthia- didn't expect this, but the challenge became therapeutic. I didn't know what photo to use, but chose a recent one of my parents. I couldn't scrap it right away because it was hard to see, it's been almost 3 years since I went up north. Dad is dealing with late stages of Alz, and I can't imagine the shock of the differences since last time. Then he would sit in his recliner and stare silently for long periods of time. It was sad. Since then, he has forgotten who my son is and son's family, and other extended family members. The great grey cloud is hovering. They NEVER argued in front of us kids. We never heard them raise their voices to one another. But sister tells me that has been happening- probably due to elevated frustrations and "not going gently into that night".I know the day of him forgetting me is near. That's also hard to imagine. Why the Lord allows this, I do not comprehend. But this is the first time I was able to really "look" at my feelings about them- they are slipping away, fading out of my life.Mom recently said she "has to stick around until 'someone else' passes". She is fighting depression.The initial pain of it is fierce, but there is a slow and steady current of peace beneath. I cried through the whole making of this page. Thank you.

I've split a picture into 4 letters to create a title!

 

I think I'm on time with about 15 minutes to spare! I lost my first layout, photo splits and all. Was giving it up, but then I started one this afternoon.

 

Love this, and love kintsugi! I learned of it from reading the book "The Story of With".
