Normally when I open up my email it’s another job rejection email - I average 2-3 a week most weeks but today I checked and there was an offer of study for a Graduate Diploma in Disability Sector Leadership which I start next week part time via online/distance learning. So can not wait, figured while I’m still looking for work I can be up skilling during the next two years. If I find a job while studying then that’s fine as I can do both and if I have to relocate then that’s fine too as I have no in person classes to deal with at all.
Thanks @umyesh Im sure I will, looking at the courses, I will have done a fair few of the topics during my degree at a slightly lower level so it shouldn’t be too bad and the topics I haven’t done I’m really excited to do and the main clincher - all assignments, no final exams which is excellent news for me.
No final exams sounds lovely! I have to study very hard for tests so I always dreaded them, especially when they all end up being the same day or week!
Yes, I could go into an exam with like an A+ or A or A- from coursework and very easily come out the other side of an exam with a final grade of a C- or C or C+ if I was really lucky, wouldn’t matter how much study I had done either. Luckily I never failed a course but yeah exams aren’t my thing and never have been even at high school.
Jennifer, you are sounding very positive and that is great. Hope the studies go well but as you do them I hope you find the perfect job for you.
I hope so too, it’s still a risk to do this as it may not help me with getting a job but nothing is ever guaranteed especially now with how the world is.
Well I’m hoping it’s a wise move....only time will tell if it is or not. Figured it wasn’t going to make things worse than they are now and have been for the past 4 1/2 years.
What good news, Jennifer. Sound exciting. Was it Dr. Seuss who said "the more you know the further you will go"? Anyway sounds like new opportunities are presenting themselves. Good luck.
