When I saw Lynn Grieveson's new transfers set : I feel Love, I wanted to make something pretty for my home with it. So I printed a design onto tissue paper and melted it into a candle.
So beautiful Angela! Just curious how did you print on tissue paper? Did it have issues going through your printer? And when you say melt, did you iron it on to the candle? Just curious as to the process! Well done!
Hi Christa @cfile To print onto tissue I ironed the tissue paper, then taped it to a sheet of printer paper - tape along the top edge and two sides. For melting into the candle: I cut the tissue close to the design placed the tissue on the candle and tightly held in place with a sheet of wax paper (I think you call it freezer paper in the USA) I applied heat using a heat gun moving it around, until I could see the image darken beneath the wax paper - that happens when it gets wet with the melted wax.
Thank you Angela! Very neat. I am going to save this and try it out.. we have both freezer paper and wax paper. My husband used freezer paper to put on wood so I was wondering if it would work with your candle idea. Thank you again my friend!!!
Oh, I love this! So pretty! I remember stamping on the tissue paper and then heating it to the candle. It was fun to watch the design pop a little as the wax melted... and then the slow reveal, lol!
Beautiful candles, Angela! Don't you just love it when you can use your digi skills and supplies in real life.
These are beautiful, Angela! I never commented in the thread - I went straight to the gallery. LOVE them!
