    --------------------------

    Happy iNSD!

YAY here again is my favorite challenge! The winning mood board/colors from this challenge will be used by The Lilypad Designers to create the August 2020 BYOC! BYOC=Build Your Own Collection. Each month our designers create a mix of products inspired by a cohesive color scheme, which lends itself to mixing and matching products from multiple designers.

I love the way colors and images can create a mood, or as the VSCO girls would say an aesthetic. Whatever word you want to use, the feelings provoked can be strong. That's why when you cultivate a mix of images and colors to make a mood board, you wield a lot of power - use it wisely. :) Think about what you would like in a collection. What colors are usable? What elements might you want? What goes well with the season?

If you are new to this contest, you may learn best by example. During our 2019 DigiScrap Day celebration in October this contest was to inspire the March 2020 BYOC. Monica (umyesh) submitted the board below for inspiration.

    Et Voilà!
    March 2020 BYOC was inspired!!

See how the designers used her board
    and got artistic and creative?!

    Details/Rules:
    • This will be inspiration for the August 2020 BYOC.
    • Post a mood board or color palette in this thread.
    • You can submit up to three mood boards/color palettes.
    • Challenge closes at 11am EDT on Tuesday, May 5.
    • The most recent winner is not eligible (from DSD 2019).
    • Link us to the source for your palette or to the photos you used to make your own. Credit of sources is required.
    • Please do not use patterns or images from within the scrapbooking industry - neither paper, nor digi.
    • PRIZE: the entry with the winning palette will receive the entire August 2020 BYOC when it is released!!!
The TLP Designers and Pollys will be voting for their favorite color themes of those submitted. Since the voting is usually very close, it takes about a week to narrow the submissions down to the top three. A second vote is done to get from the final three to the winning BYOC palette! I will announce the winner and winning palette as soon as possible, which usually takes about 2-3 weeks.

    Helpful hints:
    1) It really helps to have an original palette with a larger number of colors or themed images, so keep that in mind when putting together your submissions.

    2) If you need a little help getting your creative juices flowing, TLP has a board dedicated to "Inspiration :: Mood Boards & Color Palettes" which is chock full of ideas to spark your creativity.

    3) Another place to see what we mean about mood boards are branding design companies such as Dapper Fox Design or Salted Ink - on the portfolio pages of each site there are 20+ concept ideas with colors/mood/branding shown if you click through. There are many, many websites to find palettes, such as Design Seeds, Love Print Studio Blog which has two helpful sections (Colour Crush and Moodboards), ColourLovers, etc. etc. These are great places to get ideas.

    4) Advertising or magazines are great inspiration too.

    5) Consider doing something unique with your ideas! Make the palette yourself... search Pinterest or online sources for images that demonstrate your color and mood vision. Just be sure to save the links to where you got your images so you can credit them.

I can't wait to see what you all submit, it's always so inspirational and soooo hard to pick favorites, much less the winning palette!

And because I can't resist... another example from last year's challenge:
Amie (amien1) won iNSD 2019 for her winning color board, and she received the whole August 2019 BYOC created from the inspiration.

I've been looking for the perfect kit for my wedding photos and haven't really found one, so I used my own photos to show you what I'm looking for! We had a very small, outdoor wedding in September and I pretty much planned and put everything together myself not really knowing what I was doing! It turned out pretty nice anyway! This isn't the best-looking mood board, but I think you'll {the designers!} get the idea! Thanks for the chance!

Love all the palette's I have seen so far.
I based mine on the guest room for our Tampa home (if we ever move) I've been imagining in my head. All bright summery colours, like gelato and with a flash of gold and a monogram here and there.
This was my inspiration and all my image links can be found here.

I think these three could really blend well together. Plus August BYOC is leading into Fall so the colours would be perfect for the transitioning seasons.

    My first offering.

I make my own color palettes. It is so much fun! I call this one Voyage Across the Sea. The palette is totally based on the Pantone Summer 2020 scheme. Artists: Alexander Jansson and Jie He.
