It's April!! Spring is here and while we are all practicing social distancing due to the pandemic, it doesn't mean we can't get out in our yards, go for a walk and take in nature that is in our area. Enjoy Spring in a new way and make joy in what is around us. That is what I am doing! The flowers are popping with color and renewal, and I am enjoying their beauty!! Now on to this month's Scraplift Challenge! I wanted to host the Scraplift challenge this month, scraplifting Farrah! I am always in awe of Farrah's pages showing her wonderful photography skills and her wonderful layout compositions. As I perused through (FarrahJobling) Farrah's gallery, I found this lovely page of hers called Hanging With Murphy. I loved the clean and simple scrap with all the white space, the use of the photo and papers and especially that pocket to tuck things in! It was just begging me to lift it! Here is my lift of Farrah's page: Farrah has some beautiful large photo pages in her gallery, as well as some tutorial screen shots for her various technique chats. Please be sure to scraplift a layout page Remember our monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the April Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges). I can't wait to see the page you will lift, and how Farrah's gallery inspires you!
I love Farrah's style and found many I could scraplift but this one really spoke to me. So it's what I will scraplift. Mine ended up a bit different but I think the spirit of it is the same.
Started with lifting this beauty... took me on a different journey though you might find similarities. I kept the strips, the limited palette, the two parts one photo and so on.
I hope there's still enough resemblance to Farrah's sweet LO! Things happen. LOL Farrah's: Farrah's gallery posting: https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/2016-08-29-hello-sunshine.388847/ My interpretation: Credits: https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/04-20_farrah_clara-videochatting.429580/
I am in awe of @FarrahJobling talent, and had a blast lifting this: and my page, with an added blended photo...
I strayed big-time from Farrah’s original, not on purpose, it’s just how it went down. I did keep that strong vertical flow and those great brackets. Farrah’s: Mine:
This is Farrah's page that I chose to scraplift: I like the clean, graphic style and the repetition of 3 elements - 3 strips of paper, 3 framed photos, 3 wordstrips. Here's my page:
Fabulous gallery. I was inspired when I spotted the photo on this page and remembered a similar photo I took of TJ a few weeks ago, just before the lock down started. here's my page
